The tokenomics are great in the bull scenario though. If we get enough network usage icp is burned to power cycles and we become hyper deflationary.

There's no scenario where staking is good for the coin price. If you must have staking it has to come well after price has gone up substantially not when it's down 99% and at $4

ICP is a DAO. They have to have stakers to incentivize voting.
The tokens also get locked up for far longer than other chains.
ICP doesn't have big inflation. It's less than other major chains.
They just have no focus at all on token price or market making.
