How much money is enough for you personally to become a NEET? How much to be a part-time wagie?

Do you understand what a safe withdraw rate is? The theoretical percentage that you can take out of stocks without ever running out of money. The conservative estimation is 4%, but it could be higher or even lower depending on market performance.

Dividends are nice, but you are eventually going to get bit in the ass by inflation, since most dividend stocks don't have growth to beat inflation, and depend on dividends for their return.

If you have 2 mil in VOO, you'd get like 23600 in tax free dividends anyways, unless you have other income.

So what happens once they die? They are clearly at the very least alright with keeping you afloat. Will you inherit a business or something?
Anonymous (ID: Uj5z9Zca) No.60822967
Right now, $1 million.

I make $62k. After taxes that's $48k. I live with my parents, so I'm able to save a large portion of that. But if I were to retire/neet, I'd want to spend around $3k a month.

Assuming a 6% inflation adjusted return, 1 mil nets me 60k a year. This means that I get my living expenses of $36k/yr (inflation adjusted) and savings of $24k/yr (inflation adjusted) permanently. And, of course, since I'm reinvesting that $24k, the principle will continue to go up, allowing me to reinvest more, etc.

In short, barring some extreme depression, $1m would set me for life. It could even build generational wealth, if managed correctly. Except, most people don't get $1m in their 20's. The only reason this works is because that $1m has time to grow. Without a magic donation of $1m right now, I will need to save up to around $2m in today's money to retire comfortably.

Based anon explaining so I don’t have to! Bit chad dick energy.

>>60819210
Yeah exactly what he said, you can buy dividend stocks but in order to not get fucked by inflation no matter what you buy, you need to reinvest the gains.

I have a house that I could pay off in full and still have about 200k in my pocket. I could easily work part-time if I wanted to.

With about a million I could be fully set, that buys you 4 apartments or about 8 dorm rooms here that I could rent out for a more than okay income even including the cost of not dealing with the administration myself. And I'm sure there are other, better ways to get a good income with that amount of money.

depends. do you own the house you are neeting in(or will you eventually)? do you care about having a car? if so do you own your car or are you still paying monthly payments? how often do you care about going outside and socializing? what neet lifestyle do you want?
>>60819404
No because I am their caretaker. Yes I have a credit score I'm not a retard, I know I'll need it eventually if I want to make a big purchase. I just don't have any desire to move out because I know no women would come over and because I don't have to pay any bills I never felt the need to get a job. The only part that sucks is not having a car I should probably get a part time job just so i can have a shitbox without dipping into the crypto profits

It's actually impossible
If you're in cash, you'll get fucked by inflation
If you're invested you'll get fucked by bear markets
Even safe shit like SCHD need a good million or so locked up to get a decent divvy to live off of, and its down like 4% vs spy

anything under $3M

$3M and up

It changes depending on age, you will probably want more like 4 or 5 if you are a teenage or in early 20s. This assumes a somewhat modest living style but you can still own a house and a car.
Anonymous (ID: TRYfAeb3) No.60827846
I'd retire on $4m. I'd live on two percent annually of $80k, rest in treasuries and diversified stocks. My annual return would be at least four percent. If you can live on a certain percentage or less with a certain amount of money, you've come across an actual real-life infinite money glitch.

gold is a stable asset and the increase in price was mostly due to inflation and reduction of value of money. The new floor would be about 2700USD
