Ok, question for you /pmg/. On Friday I'm going to buy 4, 5toz bars. Do I get the:
5toz sterilized Italian made bars
-or-
5toz random, secondary market bars at the absolutely premium I can find?

You can make money on numismatics, just like you can make money selling frog rounds or mining stocks but the silver scammers never suggest you do those things, in fact they say you shouldn't do them. why is that?
Because the goal of the silver scambots and the demons who hire them is to ruin your life , make you broke, scared and hiding in mommy's basement praying for the world to collapse. And that's exactly what will happen if you buy fake physical silver, be it rounds, bars or junk.

At what point do you get mad at yourself for not having any gold while your silver doesn't even meet inflation for another 10 years? All the other stacker communities I know about broke this cult conditioning and moved to gold almost exclusively.

It's more like you've been sitting on a stack of Monero waiting for it to do something, anything, for years while BTC holders continue to make money.
Having a silver stack is based, and maybe silver SHOULD be valued much higher, but that doesn't guarantee it ever will be. Being so stubbornly all in on silver while having no gold is absolutely retarded and you're only hurting yourself.

I think it will be substantial when it matters most. All of the credit assets in the economy are nothing but crap. My valuable materials are capital assets. When credit is revalued it will revalue against my metals. I will not be stolen from, but will actually benefit from extreme economic carnage. I don't think maliciously, I am simply positioning myself defensively for when the banks need to pull the plug on the stock market.

Limited mintage (if you consider 275000 limited). Numismatic value. The 2021-2022 versions had good resale value but I have notice a lag or a drop off in resale for the newer ones. I have the proof and reverse proof of both morgan and peace from 2023. They are lovely, especially as a canuck, but I am not chasing the newer ones.

I meant to type the bond market.
It's only eating up HALF of the tax revenue of the U.S. government. Theoretically at some point 100% of the dollars taxed will go to just pay interest. Not sure what the game plan is but I know for a FACT anything denominated and propped up with credit is going to implode in real value. The system will not be able to defend the value of cash and it will have to get destroyed. You can't pull the plug on just the bonds without destroying the banks, insurance companies and Wallstreet and you can't honor the bonds without destroying the cash. All they can do is hope to give you microdoses of inflation and hope you will just get accustomed to being incessantly impoverished.
If that is where we are headed, luckily we have historical precedent on how to avoid & profit on this exact same scenario.

Living in Canada is a blessing if you are a coin collector. Not only does the Royal Canadian mint produce currency coins for like 1/3 of the entire planet but they have a ton of unique and celebratory coins for our coinage as well. And then you have all the proof coins and sets they produce specifically for collectors
>YOU PAID $120 FOR A SINGLE OUNCE OF SILVER

The debt keeps growing as does the cost of interest. If the asset we all collectively own is only good if we all fork over $300,000 then what good are these investments if they can only even be bought with bank credit? Or the stocks that are overbought and worth pennies on the dollar. And a bankrupt citizenry who can only make a living selling hamburgers and craft beer who need credit cards to get by?
It's all a steaming pile of shit.
If the BRICS renegotiate the trade imbalance and fewer goods flow into America it won't matter how many dollary-doos you think you have when there will be less and less stuff to buy. People will find out they put a lifetime of work into their dollary-doo portfolio only to find they no longer have enough savings to retire. Collecting dollars and credit assets is a losing proposition because the debt is several times larger than the GDP. How can these debts be serviced when the entire future GDP is already owned twice over? There is nothing left for any of us. So that's impossible to pay back so all that is factually possible is that all of the credit savings and investments and claims get revalued to their intrinsic value. There won't be bank credit propping up nominal values any longer. You won't be able to get a buyer for your $1M house if a bank isn't creditworthy to give you a loan. You'll have a Millennial with $50,000 cash if you're lucky. And what will cash even be worth anyway?

It will be the value of bank credit that will lose value as it dilutes to sustain the bond market. The banks also hoard gold so it will be revalued higher. If you show up to a store with extremely limited supply of goods to sell, exchange for precious metals will put you at the front of the line. Weimar Germany shows how this worked. No one trusted the value of their money so every payday there was a race to turn it into something real. (People would buy two beers at a time because the price would rise by the time you wanted your second beer)/ Precious metals aren't bank credit.

Nothing wrong with something that lags, as long as it gets to its final destination and isn't stagnant. They are being sold to often, and I think that's part of the reason the value on the secondary market hasn't moved much. They aren't very rare at the moment. Still a beautiful coin, especially the reverse proofs. I have no intentions on selling that one as it will be passed down to my first born son.

Hm. I only have some fiat from my childhood in Europe. Nothing really worthy of imaging. I asked an LCS about unloading them (after I took out any that had any silver at all), and he said he'll pay $12/lb for them (!). He gives them to kids to get 'em interested.
Anyway... I've only once imaged a piece for someone else. But he already had my address, and you know how anonymity is priceless. I'd also feel really spooked about being responsible for someone else's treasure. I appreciate your good thoughts though - thanks!

Is it good or not for bulk? I really don't know anything about copper bulk, even tho surprisingly enough the most expensives pieces from my numis collection aren't in gold or silver, but in copper!
>and you know how anonymity is priceless. I'd also feel really spooked about being responsible for someone else's treasure.
yeah ofc, tho in a sense we all gave our addresses to Mintanon/holoanon at some point, and some of us also shared contact infos with each others, but i totally get your point, even though i'd trust you no problem, i don't trust postal services enough to send my most prized coins uninsured (tho i do it all the time via ebay, but they cover for item losses usually), which would cost a fortune. Not really worth it just for a picture i guess..

Do you have a jeweler loupe to make sure there is no marking? Sometimes the hallmarks are really, really tiny, but always on the last mail (often the one with the clasp) so you can easily miss it.
If there are no hallmarks at all, it's most likely not silver, or coming from a foreign country with no official mark labelling, which often ends up with very low purity, or straight up plated.

Nope, never seen a toning like that on an ancient. From the pics i'd say i'm 99% certain this is an original owl, i've got few of those myself, and everything is matching, but the toning probably have been artificially added. Which is stupid, and certainly is an attempt at hiding a previous cleaning, but doesn't affect the value much, that's a gorgeous tetra overall.
But if i were to see this kind of toning on ancients, it would definitely made me rather cautious.

Could be, even tho i'd rather not have it happen, since i've been repeating for months we will break above $40 in Sept. kek. But it could happen in quick succession, so both can definitely occur in the same month.
Idk what triggered this, but since the beginning of the week i sense a complete shift from bullish to very bearish from the hivemind. Suddently everybody calls AI a bubble, everybody says BTC is about to implode due to 51% control, Tbonds rates jumping higher because nobody want to purchase national debts, housing crashing with ATL demand, etc.. It all happened at once it feels like, even tho all these problems are nothing new. Did you notice it too? Idk if it's some swarm intelligence hitting on the normies a la red dot, or if organized fud by some entities.

We mine silver vs gold at a 8:1 ratio (getting closer to 7.5:1 lately).
BUT, industrials "destroys" 70% (680Moz industries + 20Moz for photography- mainly Xrays) of the silver annual production (mining output : 820Moz + recycling : 180Moz = 1Kmoz total), and only 20% ends up in investment form (+ approx same amount in jewelry : 20%).*
>*Yes, it's over 100%, that's why we call this a deficit lol, percentages need to be shrinked down to account for a 150Moz extra supply coming from previously vaulted reserves NOT part of the annual production, otherwise we are at 115%
For gold, the picture is totally different, industrial demand (all sectors) is around 350t, out of a 5Kt annual output, so 7% (out of it, 6% is tech-related : 300t). And that's with a much larger effort toward recycling.
The vast majority of the gold production ends up in investment bars/coins (account for 25% total), and another 50% in jewelry. That's where the big divergence occur, silver > industries, gold > jewelry.
So basically 75% of gold is in investable form (tho jewelry isn't optimal, it's almost entirely recycled and/or hoarded, thus kept in the investment cycle).
So basically it's 8:1 production output, but for silver approx 70% of it is destroyed, and for gold it's 7%.
=> 2.4:0.93 left, i.e once industrial needs accounted for, in investable form (bars/coins + jewelry), the true ratio of silver:gold availible is 2.6:1.
Extracted from the ground and availible for hoarding/vaulting, you actually have 2.6oz of silver for each oz of gold.
Crazy right?

As addendum, i don't think it's by chance there are 3x more paper silver emitted than paper gold (x300 vs x100 the mining output) on the financial markets. Because once you multiply this figure by the investable form of 2.6:1, you magically come back to the mining output initial ratio, 8:1.

Yes brother.
But it also underline the importance of demand mechanisms. If silver was still considered as a monetary vehicle by the masses and the central banks (even more important, because they dictate the behavior of the masses), the current 90:1 ratio would implode. And i fear the course will hardly be reversed, because too many actors are happy with silver not being considered an alternative safe haven investment. Industrials don't want to compete vs bankers & retail for their silver, and bankers are much happier with only 1 safe haven asset existing (facilitated standardization, common "safe haven language" with others nations, no floating ratio arbitrage abuses,...).
That said, it's not a lost battle either. Some nations may not want to compete on the same ground than the others, if they are too far behind in gold reserves for example. And i'm thinking of the US here. For the moment they (the government and big tech) do some agitprop around BTC, trying to have it replace silver, then eventually gold (lol) as the modern man's safe haven. Ofc they'd be super happy if others nations tried to compete on this ground, since BTC reeks of NSA glowniggery and ALL the large wallets are in the US, as well as the largest exchanges. But nobody is taking the bait. That's the reason why China forbid BTC & made BTC mining illegal. They sniffed the scam and put a hard stop to it, and the same week of the anti-bitcoin law their central bank doubled down on gold purchases. The message was to unc' Sam :
>nice try bro, but you know what? We gonna do it fair & square, using gold, as we always did since you are the world's hegemon, on your own terms
Only one who took the bait is Bukele, but for him that was calculated, El Salvador's official currency being the USD, it play in their favor if the USD dominate through bitcoin, since they already acquired a bunch.

If it's a pain in the ass for you, forget it fren. I know you usually do the foreigners in last, because you must have some kind of organized process to send in bulk per destination. So don't do just mine if it mess up your regular process, i'm not in a hurry, since ya know.. the order is from 2024 and we are few months away from 2026. :3

Lmao, pmg baggies always telling men of action what to do,,,,,,,losers,,,,,,, of course the proof of duplicates has ruined the resale value OF ALL of my good fren Mintys frog rounds!!!!!
He NEVER should have ADMITTED there were DUPLICATES, just quietly DESTROYED them and taken it up with the mint.
Did my good fren minty order duplicates?
Did a rogue employee mint extra copies of frog rounds?
Do the dies exist just waiting to pump out thousands of copies?
All because my good fren minty couldn't quietly absorb a $100 one time loss, not surprising given he REFUSED to buy a single AD,,,,,,,pennywise,,,,,pound foolish. SAD! many such cases!

/pmg/ I have finally managed to convince a friend about PMs. I was taken aback by how heavy he decided he wants to go in on it though. He told me he's interested in buying "ten Gold coins". He's not interested in bars, especially the ones in assay. I get it, personal preference and it is satisfying to fondle Gold. So far I explained to him how the AGE is 22K and the Buffys are 24K and that also the Canadian Maples are a good buy (just not with Pedo Charles mug on it). What would you guys recommend for buying ten Golden doubloons?

To be conservative, I'd get Krugs, Maples, Britannias, Roos... the usual coins... or old European stuff that have very low premiums.
To be American, Eagles. High premium but it stays.
To be moderately speculative, some series coin - elephants, East Caribbean 8, Koalas, Tudors ...
To be very speculative, artsy coins and meme coins - movie stuff, special commemoratives... Stuff that's very high premium and may or may not gain numismatic/collector value at a high rate.
There's a lot out here. Doesn't have to be all of one type, though tubes may get a slight discount.

I don't really care about credit gains. I very deliberately want to stake my claim on the real goods and take them "out" of the ponzi scheme.
When times get tough and you need your "value" the most, I fully expect people to just start stealing. Nations will steal mines, everyone will attempt to push you to the back of the line. As we speak, there is a whole short selling scandal ongoing where brokers are overselling shares so you don't even know if they even have what they sold you. FDIC insurance will be completely useless to backstop anything and the Fed ALREADY destroyed their balance sheet back in 2008.
This is a downward spiral and you should really only bother investing once you have secured a sizeable stack as a rock-solid foundation that will keep you afloat when the credit bubble bursts. All of the speculative trades and investments I make are to ultimately secure a house, land and precious metals. Back in May 2024 when GME spiked from $10 to $80 the first thing I did was buy $15,000 of silver (anticipating my calls getting assigned). I still think that is the correct play. Use credit trades and investments to lock in real-world wealth.

The gains are all propped up by IOUs. Functionally speaking, what backstops it all is that as U.S. taxpayers, we all just need to chip in $300,000 per person (even the infants and children) to make these debts whole. Since we all know this is essentially impossible, anything of value inflated by leverage is a stinking pile of dung. Because if you are smart enough to peel back the layers the only thing propping it all up are Treasuries and the dollar as reserve currency.
The bond market alone is $46TN in size. If that much pent-up purchasing power (read: savings) were to have solvency issues everything is basically going to implode. It will look exactly like this gif. The point of no-return will snatch all of us in an instant. If all of your wealth is contingent on someone else paying you value, well be prepared to not get anything because the financial system is nothing but a massive daisy chain of people passing along payments. We're all at the bottom of the chain.

It is 100% true. The banking system is highly leveraged and they are extremely risky places to keep your money. Alan Greenspan says it best, they can give you dollars but they can't guarantee their purchasing power.
You avoid the fiat fallout by keep real-world value and not relying on a bankrupt government, bankrupt insurance industry, bankrupt Wallstreet to make good on your investments. Half of any value owed to you literally has to be paid for by your TAXES. The banks are standing only because you pay TAXES. On its face the notion these things have any value is ludicrous. They are a ticking timebomb and you avoid the fiat fallout by buying physical value capital assets. Even blue chip stocks are pennies on the dollar of assets. It's all going to turn to dust once the bond market solvency issue comes to a head.

It's just the Fed Chairman informing us that there is no such thing as a free lunch. I believe him and I act accordingly.

>I'm tall and very good looking and every country i go to I'm stalked by females maybe they can sense my wealth. There being a strong correlation between height and good looks and wealth. I would encourage yall to become rich like me by not buying garbage rocks if you are short and ugly
>I was talking to a youtuber one time in a foreign country about the many scam attempts i get by looking like i have money, tall white good looking no jewelry or fancy clothes. And he didn't believe me because he had no one scamming him being short and greasy looking 25 yearold. While we were talking several scammers came over and targeted me the guy was shocked. You are just inexperienced so you never had a female pursue you . Doesn't mean you can't get rich but you have to do more than getting scammed on silver

They are solvent only because they can dilute my money (counterfeit) and tax my earnings (steal).
At its core, it's quite clear that the banking system is bankrupt and it is my own ass I am chewing on when I toil and try to get by. The more you pay into it asking for value in the future the more you expose yourself to losses. As I said before, to make everyone whole on these obligations we all just need to pay $300,000 per person (even children). This is like asking 100% of all homeowners to sell their houses at market value and receive NOTHING as all the payments are owed elsewhere. These are insane obligations that can never be repaid even if we tried our hardest for 100 years. The value is gone, blown up fighting wars and buying bombs, warplanes and yachts. We just haven't formally written off the losses yet. We already lose HALF of the government's tax receipts to interest and even the Fed is suffering losses on their portfolio and no longer remit excess payment back to the Treasury. We are exponentially approaching the even horizon, and like our friend Mr Crab above, those exposed to the losses will be locked in quite abruptly and without warning.

IQDalit has a genuine cognitive impairment. I'm not saying this to be hurtful, in fact I think he should seek professional help. This thread is his life. He has been obsessively posting every single day for months if not years. He genuinely does not have anything else

We are now at that point where we are saturated with debt. His warning is more pertinent than ever.
It's factually true that the banks revalued gold in 1933 and everyone who held gold-backed dollars lost 69% of their purchasing power. It's not enough to even trust gold-backed IOUs.
This will happen again.
100% proven FACT.

It's odd that he is so dedicated to spreading fud but can't even muster a basic coherent argument. He is most certainly tied to a glownigger operation to make PMG less comfy. He might even be a bot

I like how IQ Dalit just disappears once the image pops of revealing him to be a bot.
If silver was such a bad investment and he can't refute the myriad of responses, why would someone bother trying to fud a bad investmnet? It makes no sense.
I think the value of silver will make material gains against gold when it inevitably revalues. The tax cattle need to stay in the holding pen for as long as possible as that is the "fuel" consumed to keep it going. Silver is like the tax-cattle pen door being wide open where they can walk off and avoid the slaughterhouse. The more people who opt out the more real-world-resources the system needs to procure. Their bogus IOUs suddenly become quite tangible claims against capital when you buy silver.
