Need some financial advice.
I'm gonna be honest with whoever takes the time to read all of this.

I'm almost 20 years old. I don't have any memories of my dad being home, so I've been working in many jobs since I was a kid to bring money to my house. Rn I'm working 6 days a week at a pub to earn 800$/month more or less, which idk, it can be useful to pay house bills, and some other things that have to be paid, but it is clearly not enough.

I'm not searching to be Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates, but i could really use some advice of which way should I go, because, the way things are going, I'm really looking 30 years in the future and seeing myself as I'm right now waiting for my retirement.

I just wanna have a peaceful life for me and for my loved ones:

I don't want my mom to have debts that we cannot pay even with 3 people bringing money to our house.

I don't want to work in a pub until i'm in my 60s.

I don't want my friends to not message me to hang out because they know I'm only in my house one day a week.

I don't want to.

Any advice would be helpful.

If youre extroverted, try to make as many friends as possible which in turn will bring you connections and land better jobs. If youre not extroverted then work on trying to be more extroverted.

I'm actually really extroverted. The thing is I don't really have time to make new friends or talk with people much. My actual job takes a lot of my days, and... let's say that the pub where I work it's not the type of place in which a guy with a lot of money would enter to have a beer.

Anyways, thank you for your advice, I didn't think anyone would actually reply to this post.

idk, I've been working a lot even being as young as I am, that I think I'm just desperate.

I'm like a guy who enters a church looking for some divine intervention, but at the end of the day I suppose it is what is is.

I know nothing about trading, stocks and cryptos. I did my research a time ago, but I found it overwhelming. I mean, some guy came to me talking about index founds, and told me to put my money in one of those and just let it sit for 20 years, and by 2045 I would have a really good amount of money, but I don't even know what's going to happen to me in 20 years.

But, idk, I don't discard that by now.

You need to level up your skills. Any kind of skill that gets you a certificate or entry into a trade. I know a guy who took a quick training course to become a phlebotomist. Turned it into a career in the medical field. Look into trades. Become an apprentice. Personal development is like capitalism - but you invest in your own personal capital in the form of learning skills and gaining experience. If all you know how to do is jerk taps and wipe tables, why would anyone hire you to do something else?

And if you are waiting for someone to walk in the door and hand you a new career or a get-rich-quick-without-doing-anything scheme, you will be waiting a very long time.

To add to this, skills are more or less valuable depending on region. If youโ€™re in Alberta, just get a 3rd class power engineer certificate and youโ€™ll be laughing in less than 5 years

All right, OP, I'll play ball. What's your educational background? What interests you?
Can you take out loans or qualify for grants for school? I was a teacher myself for years. Education degrees and teaching certificates aren't too hard to get and you can often get them fully covered depending on your country. There's a teacher shortage around the globe because it's kinda a shit job. Especially in the sciences and maths; you'd get hired immediately. It will pay the bills better than working at a shitty pub.

While going to school, you can keep working part time for some spending cash and use that to buy Bitcoin. Just buy some each month or each payday. The more the better. Treat it like a tax you have to pay to yourself. It's your pension.

Ok, so as I explained in my fist post I've been working since I was a kid, so i left my education behind when I was in high school to go to work.

With that said, I dont even have a high school degree. I was looking to getting it doing an exam in an adults school, but since now I have a full time job, i discarded that a while ago.

Now that some replies says that I should level up my skills, I think getting my high school degree would be a good first step.

For my interests, well, I'm into computers. When I was a teenager i did some money repairing computers for some of my friends family and they joked about me having a job in microsoft when I was an adult, hah.

That was a while ago, but I still into computers and electronics nowadays. If you put me in front a faulty computer, i could really fix it.

You're on the right track. Yeah, you're going to need to finish high school first thing then. I'm sure there are options to do it part time or something so you can still work.
Once that's done, look into community college programs or something similar. You can do a lot of stuff online now especially if it's tech related, I would think. I'm out of my field with tech so can't help you there with details. But tech is a very broad industry. There's stuff for everyone. Stiff competition though as many companies outsource. So keep that in mind.

Don't mess with any other crypto. Just Bitcoin (BTC). Hold it on Coinbase with 2FA enabled until you feel comfortable.
At this point, NOT buying some Bitcoin would be dangerous (to your financial health). It's not going anywhere.
If you're concerned or nervous about owning BTC directly, you could also open a stock brokerage account and buy a Bitcoin etf like IBIT, BITB, BITO etc. whatever is available for you. This would be just like buying some stock like Microsoft or Apple etc but give you exposure to Bitcoin.

What country are you in that pays so little? In the U.S., even at $10/hour, you would be making at least double that.

>>60825783
You just put it in and let it sit. But don't leave it on Coinbase, that guy is retarded to suggest that. Learn how to do self-custody and transfer the BTC to an address you control. Things to remember:
* you NEVER tell anyone you own any Bitcoin
* you MUST generate your seed phrase on a computer that is kept offline
* you NEVER enter your seed phrase into a computer that is ever online
* you ALWAYS keep multiple encrypted backups of your seed phrase

If you EVER reveal your seed phrase either to someone else or to an online computer, expect everything you've ever saved in BTC to be stolen. It happens a lot. And if you leave it on an exchange, expect to be targeted with malware and for it to be stolen off the exchange. A forum I sometimes have an account on (when I'm not banned from it) had some guy post about how he logged onto Coinbase one day to find that all $40,000 of BTC that he had sitting on it had been transferred off the exchange. Apparently he'd gotten some password-sniffing malware on his computer and the hackers just logged in and moved it all.

Me? I made the stupid mistake of telling a coworker I'd been buying it. That was in 2015. In 2017 he suddenly tried to become my best buddy, then at a bar one night he tried to drug me to kidnap and rob me. I don't know if he was planning on killing me or was hoping I'd have amnesia (common effect of Rohypnol, you're not really aware of what's going on while you're being interrogated, or being fucked, or whatever is happening to you).

I'm way out of the job market even in my own country so have nothing specific to say about yours, but isn't every young man in the world "into computers"? And remote "tech"? Diving into a pool with literally millions of competitors from India is going to be frustrating. I suggest looking into fields that are NOT popular or are still out in the future.

Pick a trade that requires getting dirty or lifting things. That eliminates women as competition, which is half the job market right there. It also eliminates lazy, obese, drug addicted men, which is another 25%. And some trades might pay you to apprentice.

Or find a way to get into robotics.

Remember, nobody wants to pay you to do what YOU like. They pay you to do what they either don't like or can't do.

Leaving it on a trusted exchange is better for 90% of normies. Youre the one retatded thinking everyone can govern their own shit.

OP is nervous about getting started in BTC and you are suggesting he learn self custody and trust himself with that? Coinbase would be safer. He can move his coin to their vault for additional security.
Self custody is NOT what normies need until they get comfortable with Bitcoin. I say this as a long time Bitcoiner. It is not user friendly nor intuitive to non-cryoto people.

$50 a month is fine. That's more than most people put into it. More is always better but you need to make sure your needs are met. The key thing is needs, not wants. You will need to have some patience and be willing to sacrifice a little cash now for a better future. It takes time.

Oh and no, you don't need to watch the market. In fact I'd recommend that you don't watch it at all. Just put money in and do a market order to buy BTC whenever you can. Hold it and don't sell it for 4 years. You'll have more than when you started and a hell of a lot more than if you put that $50 into a bank savings account. Your purchasing power will also be higher. If you start getting comfortable after a couple times, you can start doing limit orders and getting a feel for how those work (you just set a price you want to buy at and it will only buy at that price). They are useful for getting a price you want and makes bookkeeping easier too but honestly I often just smash the market order button.

Put some money into a savings account with a good rate (i.e. more than 1% lol) every month, or maybe even into a bond if you have left over (bond = an organisation has a loan with you and pays you every so often until it's paid off).
Also, get an appointment with your bank, say you want to invest. People here will tell you not to, that it's a waste of money. However, you don't know what you're doing and don't have time to learn. So go talk to someone who knows something about it (so not channers) and listen to their advice. Maybe have them set you up with something, these days most banks have entry level investment plans where you invest 25 a month, that sort of thing. Or use the basics they explain to you to make your own choices.
