Actually, what you are describing is literally kinda the plot of MGS Peace Walker, where they think that actually humans are the weakest link when it comes to nuclear deterrence, as if for example russia nuked the USA, maybe the USA won't retalliate to prevent the nuclear winter from fully unravelling, thus they create an AI that as soon as receives DATA of who attacked, programs and launches a full nuke counterattack without a single human having to say ok, making it supposedly the perfect deterrence, as it guarantees to any attacker that the counter attack will happen. Funny enough, in the game the metal gear suffers an oracle attack where they manage to send fake data, thus triggering the counter attack falsely. When I finished the game i thought to myself that LINK literally fixes this, and i guess the same from the financial world could be fixed too.
