What the fuck is the appeal of a fancy watch? It's heavy, jangly, overwrought, attracts and impresses the most superficial people. And of course, expensive and at least in recent years, a horrible investment. Most people wearing fancy watches aren't even rich, they're just in debt trying to appear rich, or they got it loaned to them so they could do tiktok videos about it, so they're not even sending the signal you think they're sending.

Wear a fucking casio or just look at your phone if you need the time. At least a nice car can be more comfortable, soundproofed, better shocks and brakes, etc. A nice watch literally does nothing more useful than a $5 mickey mouse watch can do.

I got excited about watches at one point and was thinking of buying a $6k watch, my wife who is a watch wearer noted I have never been a watch wearer and suggested I buy a cheap one first to see how I like it, so I bought a $250 Seiko and wore it for like a week and have never worn a watch since.
