Is $3400 the new floor now officially?
Hey frens, I wanted to share this with you all. I did an analysis on the "silver glut" that's pushed around here by IQDELET, to see if there was maybe some chance in hell that he is onto something.
I poured through the World Silver Survey reports and manually entered the values in the supply and demand tables that appear throughout their publications. All I did was enter Total Supply and Total Demand, and found the difference (and I confirmed that difference through the report numbers). This assumes recycling was only done once for every ounce reported, which allows for maximum supply. I then plotted the numbers in a bunch of different figures, but picrel is the most relevant to the claims.
The data only goes back as far as 2004 for a couple reasons, namely that, since the publication of the 1995 edition, surplus/deficit balances of 0 were reported, and the 2014 edition was the first report after this that had more exact supply/demand numbers. Earlier editions before 1995 had this too, but I have to look more into whether the numbers are global or not.
The reported annual supply/demand values for each year differ between editions too, sometimes drastically. I don't know why this is, but just to be conservative, I found the cumulative sums for the mean, min, and max values across editions for each year from 2004 to 2023 or so. This is what is charted in picrel.
As you can see, there is clearly no recent surplus. Adding in values from previous reports would not yield nearly enough to put the surplus at some ridiculous amount like 43B oz either.
I also found a paper written in 1930 that shows that, from 1493 to 1927, total silver ever mined in America, which became 84% of the world output, was only 14B oz. Last year's cumulative deficit blows that out of the water.
I'm open to critiques about how I found the values for this chart, and there are some gaps I didn't account for, but I'm pretty sure there is no massive surplus based on the data.
Fuck IQDELET.

break this down for me if you would, would this effectively be the silver trapped in solar panels because it wouldn't be cost effective until silver breaks above 100/oz, and cases like it?

Oddly specific, but it's a bit early to be recycling solar panels, isn't it? Ask your favorite AI. Mine gave quite an extensive list of sources, and says it's done because it's profitable. Dunno where you got the 100/ozt figure for break-even.

Actually there may be some weight to the surplus. 14B oz in 1927 vs an average 1B cumulative deficit last year implies a surplus. So I will have to look further. But that number will be eaten up in coming years

And this is the difference between gold and silver. Gold sits around but silver corrodes and disappears. 90% of the silver mined has gone bye bye. So 90% of 14billion is 1.4bn ounces remaining.
From my calculations, there is about 5bn oz of silver in above ground form. And then add 2 billion more thats being hidden in particle accelerators and stuff. 7bn oz of available silver is reasonable.

You are mentally handicapped. It is one of 5 "precious metals" on the periodic table because
a) It is not a gas like Hydrogen or Xenon
b) It does not react with oxygen like Aluminum or Iron do
c) It does not face radioactive decay like Curium or Plutonium
Silver and gold literally last forever.

There is 3rd option, work some job in mini Business model (like "Kleingewerbe" in DE/Germany. PL has similar thing.) until the tax limit of around 11.000 EUR. Then you only have to pay the "must be" taxes like GEZ/TV-Radio, Health insurance, Car tax+insurance, Electricy+Water+Phone, and rent home or if have house then the ground tax, and the buy tax on near all wares like food, Benzin. This way you reach the limit in August/September if had enough customers/clients, rest of year is for you. Or depend on work you get you work for 2 or 5 weeks, then 2 weeks free if none is calling you etc. = much more free time, even if not earn much money, +/- 3 free months in a year, not like the other full work slaves happy about 4 weeks/year free + the holidays in springtime they use to fill with their vacation days to get longer weekends.

I did the maths on my end too, trying to have a holistic vision to encompass everything, but it's been a while back i don't remember the figures. But i think i ended up with something like 13Boz for all silver availible above ground worldwide, in any form. It may seems like a big figure but in truth it's fucking nothing if you consider how much capital it got to absorb eventually, and how much of it is "stuck" in another form (it's not like we ever gonna melt down ancient coinage/artifacts for example) or lost.
But don't quote me on this 13B figure, i need to find back my maths to confirm.

I really do think anons should be about 80/20 gold/silver despite the out of whack ratio. If it was 2014 I wouldnβt care and be all for silver, but it seems like there is going to be some flipped switch soon and Iβm not convinced silver will be apart of it. And unironically, if silver does do everything we think it will then a mere 200 ounces of silver would be a kingβs ransom anyway.
I think you people with 80-20 or 90-10 silver to gold ratios in your stacks are playing with fire, and at very minimum should be 50/50.
>For example. You have 700 ounces of silver and 1 ounce of gold. Make that 300 ounces of silver and 5 ounces of gold total.
>for example. You have 1800 ounces of silver and 3 ounces of gold. Make that 800 ounces of silver and get that 13 ounces of gold under your belt.

I just think that people with like 2000 ounce of silver are crazy. There are people in comments Iβve read on YouTube whoβve been stacking for like 4 years and they only have like 82 ounces of silver. The top end of those comments after 3-4 years of stacking are like 300-400. Thatβs literally all you need.
So few Americans own gold and silver that if someone with say 5 ounces of silver and 300 ounces of gold doesnβt make it in that paradigm shift then someone with 1,500 ounces of silver and 15 ounces of gold isnβt gonna make it either.
There are probably enough people out there who donβt stack, who have family heirlooms, or stacked for a couple years in the past and donβt even think about stacking anymore who have maybe 20-50 ounces of silver and/or an ounce or two of gold. So that when a reset does happen, these people (maybe 10 million people?) have just enough to stay above water to keep things from completely falling apart as the transition occurs. It isnβt just gonna be everyone is fucking fucked and then the guys with 800 ounces of silver and few ounces of gold are the kinky people left to thrive.

If you need say 500 ounces of silver to last a year, so like 50-ish ounces of silver per month (or 1 oz of gold per month) then thereβd be literally no point in investing in silver and gold. The vast vast vast majority of stackers are probably in the 100-200 oz range. So what would be the fucking point of being able to last 2-6 months just to end up being fucked and dying after you run out?
For stacking to be worth it for ardent stackers it would have to be something like 3-6 ounces of silver to last you a month in the reset. Then the guy with 200 ounces of silver (which isnβt that much) can buy a business for 100 ounces and a house for 100 ounces. Something like that.
Iβm merely stating that the people with the amount of silver you have are really playing with fire if you have less than 5 ounces of gold. If you have less than 5 ounces of gold you should immediately get that up to 10 ounces at the expense of your enormous silver stack. And then you still have a huge silver stack.

The point is those guys with 100 ounces will be fine. They have to be fine in a reset. If dudes with 100 ounces of silver arenβt gonna have a small windfall, then you are going to be very disappointed having stacked as much silver as you have. Iβm just saying gold is a sure thing. And we arenβt sure is silver is a sure thing. 1 silver ounce = 2 weeks worth of wages historically. 50 ounces of silver means 2 years.
700 ounces of silver = 28 years of wages.
I donβt think you autists have the presence of mind to understand exactly what Iβm saying. The point is almost nobody in America owns 700 ounces of silver. Even most committed stackers donβt own that much.
And when they talk about gold revaluation we have no fucking clue what that means for silver. Some people just assume itβs gonna go to muh historical 16-1 ratio. I think thatβs bullshit.
All Iβm saying is you are really putting your neck out there for no reason if you are 80-90% silver and have over 25k in metals.
If you only got 10k or less in metals then Ok go the 100% silver route. But if you got 2,000 ounces of silver and 2 ounces of gold then you are a fucking idiot to not exchange for like 5-6 more ounces of gold right now at this horrible ratio.

No, he's been screaming for lower rates. Even in his first term, he said he wanted interest rates "at zero or lower." Ultimately, the only way to force that to happen is through debasing the currency. What's incredible about this song and dance with Trump vs Powell is that interest rates never actually got high enough to stop the expansion of credit. We've reached the stage where it's impossible to raise interest rates enough to stop inflation without collapsing the whole system. All that awaits us is more and more inflation, so you better keep stacking.

Autistics donβt have emotional intelligence. I actually didnβt notice it for 10 years either, but Maloney has a slightly sleezeball and Fed glow to him. And then I started thinking, well, maybe heβs there shilling silver to throw people off the scent of gold because in this re-structuring or revaluation gold goes to say 50k and then whatβs silver gonna do? Go to $2,000? Or even $1,000 at 50 to 1 ratio? I honestly donβt think thatβs going to happen.

With all the psyops itβs dawned on me they want more people in silver and not gold. And now a lot of people are relatively balls deep in silver and wonβt trade at this ratio out of spite.
If silver really is the key, then youβll be swimming in pussy with a couple hundred ounces anyway, while being plenty good on the gold side as well.

I would actually even sell your gold to get 130 ounces of silver. Then itβs not terribly far to reach 200 oz, and then go gold. I think the lower on the totem pole you are at the more it makes sense to go into silver first. Secure a sizeable 200oz stack HOPE for a narrowing of the ratio of 30-1. And then go gold after getting 200 ounces of silver

If you had say 1,000 ounces of silver and 1 ounce of gold. And you had secret information that gold would be revalued next week are you telling me that you would stay at that current 1000 to 1 ratio?
Gold will be revalued anywhere from $5,000/oz to $75,000/oz
And you have no idea what silver will do. Maybe silver goes to 6 to 1 ratio where you make a killing. Or silver just stays in the vicinity of $40 give or take a $10-$20 swing upwards after the revaluation.
You would not stay at the 1000 to 1 silver to gold ratio you currently have. You would exchange probably 500-700 ounces of silver for 5-7 ounces of gold, while keeping 300-500 ounces of silver as a gamble. Which is more than plenty of silver would skyrocket

You are basically gambling on silver to revert to the old ratios after the revaluation. Cuz the revaluation is going to come first. I mean I guess silver could front run a revaluation, where maybe silver goes to $100 before the flip is switched for gold. But then youβd have to exchange it before the revaluation.

They likely will never say, because the element of surprise is probably key in a revaluation. If you don't catch the world off guard, they'll load up on the gold in advance. Some insiders will probably still move though, so if there's a big spike in gold with no explanation, that's probably an early warning sign.

You could have an argument if Maloney wasn't shilling gold like crazy too. I invite you to look at his yt channel rn, like 60% of all his recent vids are about gold. His discourse never changed over the years : he doesn't care about what PM to stack, he only refers to G:S ratio to know what he should buy at any given time. And to his opinion, you better buy silver when the ratio is above 80, and gold when it's below 80. Simple as, really.
Which to my opinion is already pretty generous for gold, idk if you have seen my lenghty posts 2 breads ago, where i lay down with all the figures how much silver & gold ends up in investable form? My conclusion was pretty astonishing, the final number was 1:3. You only have x3 more silver existing in investable form than gold.
Yes gold got the hedge because it's the de facto metal chosen by the central banks as store of value, and we know from experience bimetalism doesn't work in a fully globalized world where arbitrage can be done in few clicks. But this is all based on human perception of value, not hard numbers, and perceptions can change over time. As the good lil autism i am, i prefer to side with maths rather than perception, but in truth it's 50/50 chances. That's why it's so important to own both metals to cover your ass the best you can.

>Do you dig everything?
mostly wild west relics and victorian mining tools and junk. I mostly detect ghost towns that were abandoned by 1917 or so. I find a lot of indian head pennies and V nickels. Also a lot of bullet shells. Most of what I find is trash, but it's very old trash. Stuff like steel cans and metal roofing and square nails.
>Any tips or tricks?
Sounds like you're doing fine. If I could go back and tell myself anything I'd say:
1. When you dig a target stick the spade in a good 6 inches in front of the target, and dig deeper than you expect it to be. I've ruined a few great coins by sticking the shovel through them.
2. Go slow and overlap your swings. You'll find more stuff covering a few feet really well than covering miles of ground badly.
3. Experiment with different settings by tossing some coins out in the yard and seeing how the detector reacts on different settings. Your minelab is a really great machine, and if you practice on different settings you'll find tons of stuff with it. Minelabs in general are the best detectors out there for most things.

Historical values of silver are not much use directly because they are based on the ratio of silver to the quantity of goods in circulation and number of people circulating the goods and silver at that time. If you really want to do that historical calculation, you need to have an idea of the total amount of silver in circulation at a given time compared with the population at that time and the volume of goods and services in the economy. Then compare that to our modern conditions. I think you will find that the amount of silver above ground today compared to current population and size of economy is less by several magnitudes than it was in any historical time. That means that if an ounce of silver was worth two weeks of wages historically, it will be worth more like two months of wages if it were remonetized today.

Its silver and a ton of European countries like Switzerland and Spain used .835 fineness silver for their circulation coinage. Switzerland was using it up until the late 1960's just like Canada where as most other countries got rid of silver in their coinage much earlier. I think France got rid of silver in the 1920's.

Thanks for that. I find I swing pretty fast and wide. I'll try to tighten up the area and sweep a bit slower. I'm still having a hard time placing which part of the coil is triggering the beeps. Even when I use the pinpoint mode it narrows down the search to just the size of the coil. I will then use a handheld pin pointer, but I find it's never in the same spot of where the coil imprint on the ground will be. Sometimes my handheld pinpointer will hit the target more on the left side of the coil imprint, sometimes on the right. What I'm trying to say is I spend a lot of time digging and trying to find it with the handheld pinpointer. Not the biggest deal to me, but sometimes I watch guys on YouTube and they have the item out of the ground almost instantly once their metal detector gives them the signal.

>>Which country does that?
If only you knew...
Many countries after the second half of the 19th century applied different silver fineness to their silver coins.
And yes, I waste my time sorting through all this, doing long and tedious research just to make sure I can weigh my stack correctly. The fact is that it's often easier to buy old mismatched currency because it's often sold by people who are dumbly ignorant about the price of silver or the value of their coins. In short, it's a good way to build up your stack quickly and cheaply. Reselling to harmonize your stack is even easier once the price goes up.

I donβt think Maloney was shilling gold that much 10-15 years ago. Heβs probably forced to now cuz of what gold has done. Iβve always known Maloney as the silver guy, not gold. And just think how many thousands of people out there he convinced to get into silver instead of gold when gold was at like $700 and silver today isnβt even higher than itβs 2011 high even tho prices of everything have tripled since 2011. If he is a fed, heβs literally done his job. There are people a lot of people out there with probably 1,500 ounces of silver and 2 ounces of gold, and they could have had 40 ounces of gold, and now thatβs impossible for them to attain, and these people now probably have Stockholm syndrome and wonβt sell a good portion of their stacks to get the much needed gold cuz muuuh 6 to 1 ratio is coming.
And even if the ratio narrows to 60-50 to 1 that relatively small gain in the ratio where you can get a few ounces of free gold isnβt really worth it considering it might not happen and we are seemingly on the precipice of some sort of reset
>My conclusion was pretty astonishing, the final number was 1:3.
Great, if that happens (it wonβt) youβll
still be well more than happy having 2-300 ounces of silver. Which still gives you 60-90 ounces of gold. Which is why Iβm saying if you have 1000 ounces of silver and 2 ounces of gold, then it really does make sense to sell 500 ounces or so and lock up those extra 5 ounces of gold to be safe, while still having plenty of silver to kill it in a big ratio drop like you are talking about

Ok I agree with that, which gives my argument of being 80-20 gold to silver right now even more weight. If you have 150 ounces of silver then you are going to be killing it in my calculations, and amazingly killing it in your calculations. Iβm just not at all convinced thatβs going to happen. And I feel like having just 5 ounces of gold will probably be enough to make you super comfortable at minimum in a reset/revaluation. So my point is I think a lot of anons with 700-2,500 oz stacks of silver with only 0-2 ounces of gold are playing with fire when they absolutely donβt need to.
Itβs like someone with 50,000 Link (1 million dollars) and 0 BTC. Except link has a waaaay better chance of doing what we think it will do than silver doing what we hope it will do. So you have that 50,000 Link. Why not buy shave off 10,000-20,000 Link and get that steady solid 1-2 BTCβs just to play it safe. Still got plenty of Link. But we know BTC isnβt going anywhere.

We all should sit back an appreciate the massive size of credit portfolios and the razor thin new supply that comes on board. IQDalit was laughing last thread about a 500M oz glut of silver mined per year. Not much of a glut when all it would take would be America (just one country) to buy 1.5 ounces per person and the entire supply is gone now. What happens if the purchasing power of bank credit starts to weaken? What happens when multi million dollar portfolios start shifting to safety assets? It's all over at that point.

the pinpointing with the coil problem has to do with the mode you're using to detect. Computerized modes sound on the movement over the edges of objects, so if you can turn off the computer on your machine it will give you direct pinpoint location. I only have one computerized detector, a Garret Ace. It has a button that you can press to turn off the computer and pinpoint. It should be "All Metal" mode or something similar. It gives a constant whine that goes up as it passes over metal. That's what you use to pinpoint with the coil. It's the discriminator and computer that cause the signal to move around.
I got into detecting to find treasure but sorta stuck with it because even the junk is interesting.

Iβm just trying to help anons who are over leveraged on silver compared to gold. I just donβt think silver is gonna do what we hope it will do in a revaluation. Being 80-90% silver vs gold is irresponsible. At minimum it should be 50/50. Got 1,000 ounces of silver and 1 ounce of gold. Well sell 400 ounces and have 5 ounces of gold and 600 ounces of silver.

Silver develops an oxide layer over time, but unlike iron, which expands as it oxidized and flakes apart, silver does not naturally shed its oxide layer. The surface changes color, but it does not disintegrate and blow away in the wind like iron.

Silver is actually useful and needed. Especially by the military industrial complex. Silver doesnβt need to be money.

I don't. I believe gold will remain the standard store of value and wont share this position for a long time. For a simple reason : richfags stacked so much of it. And richfags always win.
I stack silver because the modern world rely so much on it. I stack silver because i believe there is no stopping the technological advancement of mankind.

So few people own gold in America. I could see an ounce of gold easily lasting a couple years. Then if silver duds out, and you only got 2 or two ounces of gold. When you could have easily had 5-10 ounces while still having a top 1% silver stack compared to other Americans or even other stackers. Well you are just shooting yourself in the foot when you could have been set for 10-15 years vs just 1-3 years

You give too much credit to our (((elites))) lol. If gold was chosen as *the* store of value, it's because kikes/central bankers saw an opportunity. They scammed the world by slurping all the gold for cheap (or straight up stole it) before making it the lone standard by the force of law. Because they control our institutions.
Back during the bimetallism era, when the globalization of the economy started (1500 AD. onward), the banksters did this DOZENS of time : arbitrage between metals. Buying all the silver and forcing an advantageous G:S ratio for silver. Then slurping the gold for cheap. Then forcing a G:S ratio advantaging gold. Selling it for more silver. Bis repetita ad nauseam.
Nowaday they still do that, but at clownishly large levels, making bank on 0.1% arbitrages : it's the currencies exchange (FOREX).

As someone who hit 1.5k silver recent I only have 6 ounces of gold. I feel that I missed the boat so to speak on 500 dollar gold so I have been hoarding silver ever since. And a lot of my junk gold is from old rings too. Sure silver is kind of lofty to carry around in a pinch but if you know what's coming you'll also know hankering down is probably your best option anyway. Just bury the shit ten feet down and forget about it. I agree with the other anon that 100 oz is a milestone and once you reach it you will feel pretty good. Not financial advice just my opinion as a long time stacker. I may quit at 2k silver though who knows.

Silver doesn't "oxydize" like iron. The surface reacts to sulfur in the air that forms a patina, but it doesn't eat through the metal. There's still silver coins around from ancient Greece thousands of years ago.

Tell the local coin shop what coins you had incase someone walks in with an identical stack for sale. Sometimes dumb niggers will literally walk right in with everything from the PMs to the exact holding case they stole it in giving you almost a perfect match.

>The Roman Empire officially set the ratio at 12:1.1 In medieval Europe, it fell to 9.4:1 in 1350 but climbed back to 12:1 in the 1450s.2 The U.S. government fixed the ratio at 15:1 with the Coinage Act of 1792. The long-run average gold/silver ratio is around 65:1 since the 1970s when the gold standard was abandoned. Historically, the ratio hovered more around 15:1.5 The highest the gold-silver ratio has been in recent history was in April of 2020, following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic when the price of gold outpaced silver by more than 125:1.

i'd like your opinion on using eyedrops to clean copper coins. I discovered this trick by chance trying differents stuff i got at home, and i've stick to it for few years now, it's very efficient and the format is very practical : you put few drops and simply rub it gently in a soft tissue for few seconds, and it will get rid of the dirt but leave the patina (can remove the patina too if you bathe the coins in it for 4 hour then rub more vigorously).
I always thought it was very mild components in eyedrops because you know... you are supposed to pour it in your eyes, the part of human anatomy with the most nerves and the most sensitive ones.
But today i looked at the ingredients and the names are kinda spoopy sounding :
>boric acid
>borax
>sodium chloride
>purified water
For 10ml it's 0.18g of boric acid, 0.12g of borax and trace amounts of sodium. So it's mostly purified water.
What do you think? Could it damage copper coins long term?
