Anons, do you wear cologne that smells good to women, or cologne that you personally enjoy? Science says that men and women are attracted to different scents. So if you wear a cologne that you personally like, you might have more men compliment you and women might hate the smell.

Smelling good is good.
People like it when you smell good and dislike it when you smell bad.
When you bring good personality to the table, people see you as a source of something good and want more of it.
When you bring good looks to the table, people see you as a source of something good and want more of it.
When you bring good ideas to the table, people see you as a source of something good and want more of it.
When you bring anything good to the table, people like it.

When you bring a good smell to the table, people see you as a source of something good and they want more of it.
Smelling good is social kindling, and so often overlooked by pseuds that put all their eggs in the "I'm smart" basket.

This is a projection of how you think, and you assume that others think the same way.
You think people who wear fragrances are fags or whatever, and you're assigning that attitude to others. You say, "Nah, they're tryhards. They're brown. They're whatever. Everyone else is surely looking at them with disdain."
But it's not true. It's just you projecting yourself onto others, which others reject.
Also you're gay.

i wore a decent cologne one time and got positive attention from virtually everyone, including people who i know didn't like me or had written me off and ended up richer for it

people who sleep on fragrances generally sleep on aesthetics in general and are living their lives frozen out from multiple dimensions of the human experience, as if you could refuse to transition from their black and white television world because colors are le bad. or don't eat vegetables because they "taste bad". something like that.

usually because they are afraid of change, afraid that they might have been wrong and if they change it would admit they were wrong, as if being wrong or making a mistake defined who you are. you know, autismos

Montabaco. Opens with some similarity to Prada l'homme with violet and cardamom. Settles into a floral tobacco, like if you walk through a tobacco plant field, that's how I imagine it anyway. It's rather robust, yet fresh and airy giving it a natural quality. It's not the typical sweet tobacco vanilla slop.
Nuclear performance, but some might go a bit noseblind.

Tdh parfum, feels more gentlemanly and softend, less sharp and dirty with sweetness from the benzoin which I personally don't particularly like for this type of fragrance. It's not bad, but I prefer the original.

Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum has you covered on both fronts. Great scent, inoffensive and versatile almost to a fault. You can wear it literally everywhere in any occasion that it is incredibly easy to become nose-blind to it (aka smelling it so often that you don't even register it anymore)
