Anonymous (ID: SYIjF8Bj) No.60851135
because AI can't do shit
i have a call center job for microsoft and neither chatgpt or copilot can answer a fucking question the customers have
Anonymous (ID: SYIjF8Bj) No.60851139
also these AI shits constantly lie

"do this in powershell and then type this commande who does not even exist"

kys if you think AI is going to change the world it's just a fucking chatbot

Cause it's prone to hallucination. It's still just an LLM, a glorified search engine that aggregates data. It is not AI, the moment real AI is made is when jobs are endangered. For now learn prompts and you will go far in corpo land.

Not strictly accounting but auditing at big 4 is outsourcing to India

If an AI fucks up an audit you can't sue it. The accountability factor is real.

There are some "self service" type of accounting in Brazil where most accounting needs are automated, but it's not perfect and it only works for simpler cases

AIs will never truly replace jobs like accountants because companies/lawyers need someone who they can put all the blame on if things go wrong
Getting rid of one person is much easier than being forced to overhaul your entire IT infrastructure

it won't be fully automated, you'll just need less accountants to do the same work.

Laughs in CPA. Anyone can do accounting, AI is taking over that sector. You put your signature and authority behind a CPA.

The purpose of an accountant is to have a human being take responsibility for the numbers. A computer can never be responsible. If an accountant fucks up, they can be sued or even indited on fraud charges. If a computer screws up, what can you do? Nothing. There will always be someone in the pipeline who can crunch the numbers by hand and take responsibility.

It's not A.I. though, even every model agrees.

It's simple AI will probably be restricted and won't be able to cook your numbers and even if you manage to make it do it then the IRS won't be able to sue anyone. So yeah ain't happening

LLMs are only good at working with unstructured data.
Accountants spend 99.9% of their time in structured spreadsheets and databases which are not easy for LLMs to ingest, process, and/or automate. That being said, this is actively being addressed and there are already some free tools that do a pretty good job converting smaller structured datasets to markdown files which can be used by LLMs. This introduces additional complexity and friction, but I see a time coming soon where this is automated and transparent to the end user. Microsoft made a FOSS tool named Markitdown that does this pretty well.

Where do you buy that for public company financials? You might be retarded

>>60853749
>because turbotax and other software like it already exists

Good thinking. Has anyone reminded all of the companies in the S&P500 they should just run their taxes through Turbotax. You might be retarded

As opposed to passively being addressed?

As opposed to not being addressed at all and/or in a timely manner :^). Was your question an attempt to nitpick and prove your intellectual superiority, or do you actually have any meaningful contribution to the discussion?
