With paper thin margins using paid ads. Tariffs pretty much killed any profit you might have made beforehand. Besides, why are you diving into a hypersaturated meme business model anyways? You know those dropshipping tutorial vids on yt have 10m+ views, right?

You have to rebrand, market productize the FUCK out of cheap Chink shit. Metaphorically speaking, get REALLY good at putting luxury lipstick and makeup on the pig of a product that you are importing. And, follow the Tim Ferris advice. ALWAYS test the market first. Take their credit card info (don't actually keep it) and see if your offer converts well enough to be profitable before actually ordering product.

I run a company that sells hats I design which are manufactured in China.

Tariffs raised my price per thousand units by about 200 dollars - a lot of Chinese companies use loopholes to get around tariffs. The going rate for hats on Amazon is 25-30, and I sell mine at 29 which is seen as fair. My cost per unit factoring in everything is about 3 dollars. Amazon takes $11 of fees and ships everything for me.

So it really isn't hard to get into a 'dropship' esq business model if people like your product. I only spend 35-45 a day on ads yet sell 10-20 units a day (goes up and down depending on the time of year but I'd say 10-20 is my average year round if you account for the luls and booms).

Create one page blog style website, like “TOP 5 BEST (INSERT PRODUCT CATEGORY HERE)” and buy search ads for that page. Create a bunch of these pages and see what product category performs best.

Its FBA, you deliver your product to an Amazon warehouse so they can send it directly when ordered but they take a cut

>Tariffs pretty much killed any profit
but production costs should be a tiny part of your actual cost structure so that the tariff portion is not a lot on total unit retail sale price
it shouldn't be too hard to raise prices a little since almost everyone will be forced to

What >>60852638 said.

Yeah to be honest I'd rather just manage my inventory myself because I have more than enough time being that this has been my full time gig for the past year, but when you send product into Amazon you get on Prime, and it make a huge difference volume wise (I'm up 300% on sales past 28 days compared to last year same period).

People are much more inclined to pull the trigger on a cheap hat and make an impulse purchase when they can get it next day versus 3-5 days later.

Tariffs are def an issue if you're running a major operation with millions of dollars worth a production costs associated, but yeah if you're running a biz that's ordering 3-5k units at a time of a cheap already assembled product it really didn't affect anything in my experience.

how does the total number of units shipped matter at all in the calculation its all about cost per unit
did you forget about the lets raise the price a little bit to compensate part

dropshipping is played out, it was really big during the pandemic but now the market is so saturated. maybe if you could get some crazy kind of bulk disocunt.

total number of shipped units matters because of the cost per unit - If your cost basis per unit goes up 15 cents as a result of tariffs, it's not a huge burden if you're only ordering 2,000 units versus 100k units. Because you don't need to front as much capital.

I'm blessed to have a viral product from last year that still is selling strong. But I'm probably in the minority (plus it was my own product so not technically dropshipped but it did start as POD)
