I'm alright, but the gov wants to tax empty bedrooms soon to help the housing crisis. Almost like the invited 8 people to a dinner party when the dinning table has 6 seats.

Nah its alright i have 3 living rooms and 1 bedroom, so no spare bedrooms here.
If i take the doors off they might not be classed as rooms.

Dalits are used to not having doors.

It’s fucked mate. Absolutely fucked. The government just announced loan deposits are going from 20% required to 5% every fucking retard is going to be up to their house eyeballs in debt while house prices rocket. They don’t want it to crash because so many politicians on both sides hold multiple properties. It’s the most corrupt bullshit I’ve ever seen.

I am sidelined so maybe coping but it is all quite funny to me. Cost of living crisis vs everyone balls deep in debt vs endless hoards of migrants. Once I have my money I leave this burning shithole behind. But I do fear that's the trap, and I never make it.
Anonymous (ID: KCSmq8Bm) No.60858847 >>60858873
>>60858804
the trap will be a massive 'exit tax' implemented around the same time as a 'world leading' inheritance tax.

>inheritance tax
Probably they are already going after boomers wealth with the super tax

I didn't say I'd leave, just go to a small town thats hopefully affordable and white.

ahh righto. yeh I've lived rural for about 9 years now. I love it. Inheritance tax is coming for sure, ABC and SBS started planting the seed a couple of years back. no way they'll let the greatest wealth transfer since records begun occur without taking a cut.

this creates an entire population of people who will never truly own their home but will rent for life

ownership will be the new renting

yeah, in australia we dont have the uniparty both making money from the stock market like all of congress does, instead our politicians all invest in housing which is arguably even worse because at least money in the stock market circulates the economy, in real estate it just sits there doing nothing generating yield and going up only thanks to more immigrants

You japs are too humble, kick fuckwits like that out. As an Australian I fully accept the English never wanted this place to be a prison. It’s literally the containment board of the world.

I moved rurally 3 years ago because rental prices and competition forced me out of my home city. Now I'm trapped in a mould-riddled unit which is killing me and I can't escape because now, 3 years later, the rental crisis is so bad nationwide that I can't get an affordable rental in even the most remote locations.

Isn't it actually worse to move out to rent? I looked at doing that now, but there's literally 0 supply, and for the few homes there are, they're all just as expensive to rent as living 20 minutes from the CBD in melbourne

I'm 35. By home city I meant where I grew up, I don't have any other 'home' to live in, I've been renting my own places since I was 19. If you mean 'move out' rurally, yeah the prices are quickly getting as close to what it is in the city now. It was not like that just a couple of years ago.

Thats what made me realize "location location location" is a meme

It all comes down to supply & demand

The fact rural rentals are barely any cheaper than living near the cbd is proof of this

The supply shock is so bad for rental properties in regional locations

This idea is retarded
What we need is a strong and powerful land tax without exemptions, not the pathetic one most states have now
Why the fuck would you tax the building itself?
Building houses is great, it employs people and injects money into numerous supply chains

Housing is the best investment but no bank would want to loan money to me
Instead I buy ETFs

I don't have any credit history and I only make 60k
I am grinding credit history now but I think I'm fucked and don't want to bother anymore especially since I will inherit multiple homes in the future

the worst part is these people are not educated in the slightest yet they're allowed to guide property into astronomical prices like it means nothing. there's a huge disconnect going on with this garbage, but the government enables it.

One of the not so bright people at my high school became a real estate agent because of family connections. I met another girl who was a real estate agent and she failed out of uni before landing that job but even she left that job because she said you had to be a toxic person to make it.
