Its so annoying how I am still poor but good at predicting 18 month out events but I am a fricken human being I don't live in 18 month increments, so I predicted crypto in 2023 but it all happens after 2024 election and I got too bored holding COIN 2024 leaps that would pay off.

Probably right on housing booming but it will happen after JPow leaves next May and I am probably right on the baby boom in 2027 but will I have the patience to sit there and the timing to pull it off hell no.

I can tell you that it doesn't matter what I say 2.5-3 years from now its happening BUT I think Taylor Swift's first child will cause a baby boom, also all these old women 38-48 will NEED genetic engineering and IVF to have babies. Not that it matters today nobody buys stocks 3 years out.

Anyway my plan is hopefully make 15x or more my money on OPEN or TLRY and flip it into that genomics ETF and IVF treatment stocks. Again though its so boring waiting to see if its going to happen its going to be three years from now if it ever happens, I need to get a life man.

CXDO is a boring cloud-based telephone service that has tremendous pricing power against Cisco broadsoft and ex-Microsoft (now sold off to Alianza) metaswitch

it's just a boring company with decent growth/profitability now that can pprobably go 2x or 3x and if im wrong then it doesnt really matter since their profitability + operational leverage (i.e. doubling the revenue means more than doubling the eps) means your downside risk is very low, it's not like trying to 2x your money with immense risk like HGRAF, albeit the timeline on CXDO is more like 1-2 years but still a good low-risk bet since $15 target is reasonable from how it's growing its topline and bottom line (2x the revenue again and eps will prob grow 4x to 0.50 -> $15/share price target)

ai dashcams will prob hit $3-$4 as my minimum price target, although i already started trimming out of risk management, even if it hits $3-$4 i'll want to keep a small position remaining just to hedge against it going up to $9 (1 billion market cap valuation, PNG.V just did it with just eps 0.05 lmao and GSI.V has a good chance of hitting eps 0.10 in the next 1-2 years). Maybe hedge is a wrong word for that but selling as a long is just as risky as buying, sometimes selling early with a gain can feel worse than actual loss.
As I'm scaling out of ai dashcams I'm buying other plays or just straight up raising cash since even if im still bullish (on picks like this) the overall market is expensive although not bubble mania yet

honestly i dunno how i did it but I managed to pick the worst of the tickers i was looking into a bit over a month ago, AMPL is slightly red, CXDO and IDN and VTSI are only up +5%, ITMSF is down -5% for me since I bought the top. thats crazy i think most newbies would just start spouting about stocks when they make their $10K+ turn into $15K or even $20K
so when you start hearing your coworkers blabbing about stocks , then it's mania

happened when i was the shoeboy, that was 2018 for me here in canada with weedstocks, coworker talking about it and i also bought weedstocks at the top (the first top so there was a 2nd top for me to dump my bags at breakeven thankfully)
i also had MULTIPLE coworkers talking about cryptocurrency during 2018, buying bitcoin at the top, funny enough 7 years later they're actually still holding and made a good profit or well they'll hold forever at this point (probably end up being a nice extra retirement fund for them when we're all done waging)

GAMESTOp was the same shit, coworkers started jumping in even tho they laughed at me when i told them bout it at first during august 2020 (when smg shilled it to me the weekend right after Cohen 13D), like that is what REAL MANIA is

all theese newfags who have been spouting bubble the past year? L M A O

Pretty much. It's a little stupid, but it's a reasonable amount of stupid, not full retard. I see lots of news headlines about economic downturns and hard pullbacks, but in reality, people still retain their jobs, they pay bills, and they have too much month at the end of their money because they really, REALLY wanted that shiny thing on layaway (probably BNPL these days), or they paid for a $80k car because they fell for the Tiktok monthly payments grift.

I use my own work hours to gauge sentiment. I work an extremely stable job these days, so I'm insulated from a lot of this. I literally did not notice any turbulence in my life for the past six years aside from news and hearsay. Never even worried about a layoff or downsizing. When it reaches even me, I'll know something got very stupid.

Whether it's a bubble or not depends on how the AI story plays out. If the speculators are correct and all this AI spend pays off in the form of massively increased productivity, then it's not a bubble. But if it turns out that AI is in fact just glorified autocomplete and it won't replace workers in the near future in any meaningful way, then we are in a massive bubble. ""glorified autocomplete"" is enough to augment actual businesses and cut down costs

thats why it's not a bubble, ai companies that are burning too much cash are indeed dropping
the ones that are showing revenue growth and also improving the bottom line? going up.

simple applications for "glorified autocomplete" is enough, not groundbreaking but enough to cut down your labor costs by what? It could be 10% or 90% or just straight up allow some applications to be feasible finally. The one thing that's for certain that will come out of "autocomplete" technology is automated surveillance EVERYWHERE, mobile and fixed surveillance cameras. It's perhaps the most simple and feasible application for autocomplete technology, i could go on and on again on why but i'll just leave it with one example, if you have ai monitoring fixed cameras so cctvs , and also every mobile camera so the exterior dashcams front/rear/side on every bus, train, police car, garbage truck, fire truck (every county vehicle will eventually have 360 surround cameras out of safety after a child got run over by a schoolbus when they ducked down to grab a ball in front of the schoolbus), you get an amber alert, you have all those eyes watching for a person of interest

that is not feasible for a thousand or even ten thousand humans looking at every camera at once. But for a data center looking at millions of hours of footage all at once? Now we finally have real dystopian surveillance

Except nobody knows that for certain yet. Does AI really increase productivity when you need humans checking all its work? There's a lot of noise by shills and CEOs trying to pump up their stocks, but very little actual evidence. In fact, there's some evidence showing that AI isn't doing much for companies (recent MIT study showed 95% of AI pilot programs are failing). It's still way too early to come to a conclusion.
When it comes to surveillance, that's mostly image recognition which has nothing to do with the current hype around LLMs.

I think people can be happy with "good enough" in that instance. AI is very good at data aggregation and distilling it into something that is easy to review. The productivity increase on that alone is worthwhile.

Is AI ready to work fully autonomously? Absolutely not. With that said, the human counterpart is also not absolutely trustworthy either. It just has to be better than the human, whether in cognition and/or cost.

Monitor the change in each group's profit margins over a year or two and report the difference. If it is as you say, then the AI group will have a clear advantage over the non-AI group. But no such study exists yet, and the ones that do exist seem to be saying that AI isn't that useful.

>When it comes to surveillance, that's mostly image recognition which has nothing to do with the current hype around LLMs.
you need more than just image recognition to automate all detecting and ticketing traffic violations

redlight cameras speed cameras with motion detectors and snapshot cameras is one thing and needs human review. But automating almost the entire process with bus lane violations, stop arm camera violations on streetcars, and having to adjust to changing conditions (e.g. schoolbuses stop at different places, some with dividers some without etc) since it's not just a single calibrated point for a speed camera that still needs human review traditionally

Yes a lot of it is possible but you can cut it down what might have taken 100 human reviewers to 5 or maybe none at all. There is absolutely a boost to the bottom line with just "autocomplete" technology

Thats why chase the simple PROVEN applications for now, it's not a bubble yet you're not gonna make money just buying random shit. When it's real bubble, you'll have ai companies popping up claiming it can ai generate a new biologic drug to cure alzheimers or some shit and it'll go to 10 billion then yes it will be abubble

Methinks no. It's probably why datacenters have been trying to secure utility agreements with power providers for the past five years, and will for the next five as well.

Conventional datacenters will probably go for the NVIDIA clusters. There are other companies that are trying to get into the AI hardware space. Cerebras comes to mind, they use a similar process node but their chips are massive, since they use wafer-sized chips. They aren't publicly traded yet, so the next best option is via a datacenter provider, which is WYFI or BTBT.

Cerebras intends to IPO this year under CBRS. Might be a viable competitor just for energy efficiency alone. NVIDIA and AMD have been constantly been made fun of being housefires when they were still primarily for gaymers.

Blumf gutted fossil fuel regulation, it takes like two weeks for a natural gas plant to be approved these days and they can build one in a couple months.

Elon Muskovite keeps screeching about solar being the future, but him and all the other AI retards refuse to build any solar infrastructure themselves thus far because they are trying to paint a picture that the US has an energy crisis and China is destroying us so the government pays for it and they don't have to.

Everyone keeps posting meme charts of China's power buildout, but the US isn't China, we aren't going to build 100% overcapacity for the shit of it, we build enough to meet demand. Sooner or later, whether the government pays for it or not, if the demand exists it will be built.

It's really looking at tea leafs at this point.
Models are currently very inefficient and essentially brute force to get to a result from 1,000 to 10,000 (semi-)randomly selected queries.
Eventually, computing power needed to achieve significant growth is capped, so the most logical step forward is more efficient chips or more efficient models.

yup there are limited times schd performs better(if you ignore taxes) but in general it's a dumb idea and people way overvalue dividends due to the bing bing wahoo factor

a small price to pay for all that SCHD-chan provides otherwise
you still pay more in capital gains and once you sell thats it

I mean, a dividend CAGR averaging 13-15% that weathered the financial crisis and the pandemic is insane. I'm fine with that. I'm old fashioned, I like profitable companies with low debt
Anonymous (ID: u4z29Av3) No.60860957 >>60860962
>>60860937
yes, selling the stock would give me more capital gains tax because of the much higher profits. the long term rate is identical to the qualified dividend rate.(you need to hold both for a year in either case for it to not be short term)

also be open with your fetishes, it's ok bruv
>>60860941
but spy did too, and in fact did much better in every year but 2022 where it got rekked. Only non findom reason for schd is hedging against tech when you already have a massive tech position.

Your findom analogy confuses me. I like profitable companies. I like generating income. I like my income from my stocks growing at 15%. I like that even during a pandemic while the market crashed my investments generated 17% more income

That is enough for me
Anonymous (ID: u4z29Av3) No.60861003 >>60861010 >>60861024
>>60860937
what does it provide?
yes, more profit=more taxes
its at the same rate though
and once you sell thats not it

say you have a hypothetical etf with no dividend and a growth rate of 6%, and a hypothetical etf with a 5% dividend and no growth if you sell 5% of the no dividend stock at the end of the year you would have a larger "dividend" and a larger principal. Same thing but on a smaller scale.

>I like profitable companies.

great!

why not more? why preferentially choose a smaller amount if its not a fetish? also schd got hit harder(negligibly) by the pandemic crash, and then went up slower when the money printer went brrrr except for 2022.
