>What's the best strategy in 2025 for applying to jobs?
I used a military recruiter quite literally a year before covid lockdowns. Some anon was screeching about how the Chinese were exfiltrating viruses out of the US and lo and behold, they were indeed back on that bullshit. I literally coasted over the lockdowns.
First was the army, enjoyed my time doing stupid shit and getting away with stupid shit, transferred to a more comfortable life on the second go with a different service, where I miss jumping HMMWVs off ledges in the desert, but I don't miss the joint pain and whiplash from getting thrown around in the back of one. Better long-term post-retirement prospects.
Given the perpetual retention issues, I don't think job security will be an issue. The job market today is so dogshit that the fucking military pays better. It shouldn't have to be that way but I'm seeing it happen.
