romanian here. the 95% statistic is a fucking lie because of how our ID cards work. to renew my id i have to have the homeowner (my dad) with me every time. retarded bureaucracy to skew statistics. most of my friends live in rent, so do i

to expand on this, everyone living in a rented place does so without going through the headache of registering that place as a domicile, because landlords are shitheads and bureaucracy makes this complicated. everyone lives in an "owned home", a "domicile", as in everyone lives, on paper, at their parents' place. that's where the retardedly high 95% official home ownership comes from. i assume it's the same in all eastern euro countries, this statistic should be shunned as retardedly wrong

They are older stats that's why.
Your parents and grandparents didn't live in rent.
They haven't updated it for the retarded Nicuศ™or dan dickriders zommers yet

well they must be EXTREMELY old stats because since 2008 more and more people live in rent. i'd say over 30% live in rent. most students would be living in rent.

my man, i live in timisoara. i live in rent. in the eyes of the state, i live back in my small hometown with my parents. this is the case with everyone living in rent. it's not that complicated to understant. so the statistic is wrong

Well firstly https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_countries_by_percentage_of_urban_population
Only 54% of pop lives in cities in Romania
So you already have 46% with house ownership because they live in villages
And considering our population is old (fewer younger people) I would say maybe only maximum 10%-15% ( I doubt 20%), live with rent and I am giving generous estimates here
>I live in Timiศ™oara
It clearly shows you think like an urban dweller. Romania is not just cities.

you can't even trust those statistics of where people live BECAUSE THEY ARE BASED ON WHAT IT SAYS IN YOUR ID

>Muh ID
Lmao so you don't think 46% or half of population of Romania lives in the countryside? You are absolutely delusional or retarded. You either don't know anything about Romania or you don't travel much.
Should I even mention people who move to suburbs just like in USA? Cities pop is declining for a reason.

yeah man, i'm retarded. 95% of us own homes! I'M JUST MAKING IT UP, NONE OF MY FRIENDS LIVE IN RENT.
>Should I even mention people who move to suburbs just like in USA
nobody here moves into rent into the suburbs. they buy a place there. most people live in unofficial rent in big cities.
i explained it to you above, it's not complicated, but you refuse to understand. good luck.

>>60887202
Like I told you here Romania's pop is mostly old.
So you don't beliebe boomers and your parents generation don't own homes?
Yea you are on some hard drugs right now.
Zoomers only think about themselves and their generation
>95% of pop owns homes
Maybe it's not 95% but saying it is below 80%-85% is delusional and mental retardation
Anonymous (ID: tIfSVJ3g) No.60887343 >>60887376
>>60887333
might be 70%. might be 80%. but it absolutely is not 95%. what is true tho' that most people would just buy a home here, especially if they get married. absolutely no family would live in rent, that would be retarded. homes are not that expensive. it's a commitment thing

I think genetic embryo testing and gene editing for embryos is going to be massive. Think about all the resources people expend already just to very messily and inprecisely give their kids the best shot at life. Sports, music lessons, tutoring, private schools, college, etc. Soon you'll just be able to skip all that and edit your kid to be so smart, driven, fit and good looking that their success in life is guaranteed from the start. Of course this tech is probably going to come to fruition in some private startup you can never invest in until it IPOs at a trillion dollar market cap.

Yea good thing they are cheap like compared to LA where average home price is $1 million dollar and even higher and Munich โ‚ฌ600k. But homes are cheap in Romania for a reason and LA and Munich homes are expensive for a reason.
Nobody wants to live in Romania and everyone wants to live in LA and Munich.

places in LA are expensive because they'd rather keep those places empty than sell or rent them for cheaper. the same in NY. look how long many places have been for sale on zillow in LA

Still everyone wants to live there that's for sure (even the overpriced prices don't deny that)
Still at least we are on par with Detroit
But again it is cheap there for a reason
Moving to the west is not profitable for a Romanian unless you want to live with rent which is the same as having house in Romania and working the shit wages here.

it's cheap because people are poor
gigabit fiber costs less than $10/month here. why do you think that is? because it's what people can affort to pay. fiber costs how much in the US? why?
