which bitcoin wallet(s) should I get? I don't need altcoins on it

this is my goycase
>long term storage
>I do maybe 1-4 small buys/sells per month
>prefer something that will last "forever"
>afraid of failing hardware aspects like screens, touchscreens, batteries and buttons end up breaking
>prefer high security ...

I'm looking at tangem and ledger flex

what do you think /biz/?

I want a cold wallet for sure I guess
i'm open to getting a 'hotter' or hot wallet for smaller holdings

Ive watched some youtubefags but I dont trust those shilling clout chasers

i think Ledgers are great. You'll hear a lot of FUD about them but they really are a great wallet.
The Flex even has a passkey function, though it doesn't work on that many sites because nobody is adopting hardware passkeys yet.

Most of the others are good too, lots of people love the Tangem and Trezor as well.

Had a ledger for years. They started backing up seed phrases on their end recently so theirs always a chance they get hacked and your wallets toast anyways. I never updated to that version and can no longer access my ledger the device won't recognize on any PC, not to mention the battery on it died after 1 year. This isn't fun it's just my experience, I think an old airgapped laptop would be better at this point.

thats the kind of shit I'm scared of
I saw you can opt out of that service though
>>60890638
yeah, I see a lot of love for Tangem ...
I think I'm just hesitating too much, and that Tangem may be fine for me

It sucks I'm apprehensive about these devices and custodians, and downright scared about the EU

The most expensive one, of course. You get what you pay for

sounds good, which ones?

Trezor

Yeah you have to opt-in and pay for the seed recovery service. I really doubt they're storing your seed otherwise since it's pointless unless you are using the recovery service.

Also afaik they store a pieces of it separately, so it'd have to be a pretty huge organized hack on a few different databases to actually get your seed.

But also the Flex is pretty expensive. Ultimately you could get a far cheaper wallet and be fine.

i have an old ledger that they deprecated recently and i won't be able to use it at all at some point. apparently it's too old for getting software updates. i would never buy anything from them again. they also leaked my email in a hack some years ago. stay away from them.

All midwit scams. The companies will leak your personal info to scammers. One of them already did. All you need is electrum on an air gapped laptop.

I USE TREZOR

Blockstream Jade's are nice for an air-gapped Bitcoin only wallet. Trezor for everything else.

You have no idea how many anons got their shit drained by these leaky pieces of shit years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch of people still assuming their coins are in "cold storage" but got transferred out long ago.

>cold storage exploit
>myetherwallet source code leak
>smart contract autodrain airdrops
None of this requires any "bad input" on the wallet holder, you can just get unlucky and have everything snatched with no recourse. Paper wallets > Hardware wallets, end of story.

thanks for the replies saars, I'm going out again for a while but i will look into the ones I didnt know about

>>60891473
Yeah I heard about this one and another one that starts with a C which is also air gapped but more complicated I believe. thanks
