>on top of that it's a clearcut case of piracy, the whole thing is a sham dependent on theft
Its not piracy, that's just some made up bullshit by narcissist gate keepers. They want to make the argument that "generative AI" is somehow different any other form of AI so they can back pedal to to saying that "there are some good uses for AI but stealing artwork is wrong!" but the reality is that all AI is generative AI. So either you have a 100% anti AI stance or you need to shut up. And if you don't like AI you need to stop using the internet and modern technology in general. So its super important to convince people that generative AI is different than all other forms of AI. Its gas lighting tactic, all AI works EXACTLY the same way.
They want to claim they never consented to having their artwork used as inspiration for new things. But that is one of the main reason they would upload the artwork in the first place. They never read the TOS for any of the places they uploaded to. They consented by literally participating in making digital art. They consented countless ways.
And if they claim they were not expecting it, literally anyone with two braincells could have told them that the entire internet was going to be used to build AI. All language, all images, all movies. Its a skill issue at that point and 100% their fault.
They instantly need to gas light to make it for being retarded.
