By the time you're in your mid/late 30's, the kids kind of take care of themselves, you just need to pay for a lot of it. It's better for your career.
Being single in your 30's as a guy makes people suspicious of you, and does affect your upward mobility.

I have a take home income of 70k annually. I support my lifestyle, my stahm wife, her lifestyle, and have 3 children planning on a 4th. We budget, we buy used and thrift, we fix things and repair them to make them last we cook our own food and save for vacations.
Each child on average costs $100 a month. You can support replacement + 1 easily. Especially if your wife was a career woman (cringe) and has a decent earning job.
The real issue is most people do not want to be altruistic and give up there time/energy to support their family.

There really is no excuse if you have kids before 30 at the earliest. You have to at least give yourself your prime years to follow your dreams and passions. Also to get a financial head start. If you have kids at 20, all your own dreams die and your kids get raised during the poorest time of your life. Sure kids are cheap if you let the TV raise them. But if you want them to have a good life, you better have a college fund, you better be willing to spend money to help them follow their dreams.
