Does anyone here sell anything on ebay or similar sites as part of a side business/hobby?

I'd like to know what the best strategy is as far as keeping items moving, I'm tempted to list things on BIN but things tend to sit and I'm wondering if it would be better to just move everything to auction and let the chips fall where they may just so I don't have things burning a hole in my pocket waiting for them to sell for a month plus

It definitely depends on what you sell. If you want to buy (example) kitchen supplies in bulk and sell it piece by piece for a markup the margins are okay for the amount of effort/cost+time.
If you are selling something that doesnt get a lot of sales (check Sold Listings and see how often it sells) then it can be really miserable.

There is also a "slow season" from march-september because spending slows down during those months, same with other online marketplaces.

And ebay really loves to fuck you with fees on most items but its still better in some respects to other sites for selling. So if you want to really do well you gotta find a niche and dominate it.

Lower prices on your listings than the median price is everything but also optimizing your titles helps.
>I'm tempted to list things on BIN but things tend to sit
Just list it and keep finding other stuff to list.

Never auction anything that isnt being searched for. Buy it now is king for income, auctioning is only for first timers who are retarded or lazy people.
>waiting for them to sell for a month plus
Think of it like this, every listing is a child you have to babysit once a week. If its not selling something needs to change. The pictures, the price, the description.
If it's not getting views, maybe no one is searching for that item.
Also ever since ebay added the seller to buyer offers button its really helped me sell my stuff so I'd say try that.

Low-IQ boomer ways to make money. They can't beat crypto, but then, I can't blame you if you are a low-IQ monkey.

I like to go to antique stores/malls to find old silver and if im lucky golden age comic books and will flip them on ebay for a nice profit. I have a pretty extensive knowledge of comics from when i was a kid and know a lot of keys to look for. What i sell varies: sometimes ill find some random 10cent books for a dollar and sell them for $5, but sometimes ill find a major key cheap and get good money for it. I recently found a newstand VG+ Transformers #1 for $4 and sold it for over a $100. When i ger really lucky ill find pokemon cards at boomer prices. It doesnt seem like much but the hunt is something i like to do for fun and it adds up. Also, i work from home in a do nothing gov job, so i do all the listing when im sitting in bullshit meetings. After a few months i was able to fully pay for finishing my basement just from ebay cash
