Ok real talk - using XRP as an example just because it pulled off a mega run but let's avoid focusing on XRP and any unnecessary fud of other tokens.

Why couldn't LINK theoretically go on an XRP-like face melting rip from $15B mcap to like $90-100B mcap?

At the very least why couldn't it catch up with DOGE at $30B within just a few days?

It seems like one of the most undervalued cryptos currently given how critical it has become to the entirety of blockchain infrastructure, and hasn't had a TRUE gigamoon run for a long fucking time. What's stopping that from happening all of a sudden one day, maybe even soon?

btc dumps, perfectly timed of course

Because it's an API that doesn't really add much value.
Value is about MARGINAL UTILITY.
LINK is a glorified API and doesn't add value over a regular trusted intermediary or API.

Anon the entire market is speculative. LINK does more than almost everything else right now, and on top of that has the largest speculative value prop of any crypto in existence, Bitcoin included. So, that's not much of a logical explanation.

Ripple used the SEC/Gensler hate draw in sympathizers and retail investors saying XRP was being targeted, treated unfairly and corruption/operation chokehold has was holding them back. When the lawsuit was over, they used this momentum along with the election of Trump, ISO standard narrative, etc to slingshot XRP to $3. Nobody needs either of these coins for anything. Crypto is all narrative and momentum.

This simply can't happen because They won't let Me make it.

Not enough interest from retail. There's a pretty big network of XRP youtubers and media personalities that Chainlink could tap into if they started being nice to XRP and positioning itself as the 2nd best token to that network to begin siphoning off some of that liquidity like what XLM does(formerly the main XRP haters that switched tunes because its profitable).
Instead they go full autist trying to start a rivalry which just gives LINK an extremely poor image to retail. Most of the shit they fling at XRP is just being reflected back onto them but they can't read the room due to autism and think that winning arguments is enough to win public opinion. If CLG and fishy are supposed to be Chainlink's way of reaching retail then they are retarded.

Because it lacks the critical utility and is a rent coin to use an inferior product which will be used for some period of coexistence phase but will be tapered out in favor of better cheaper and faster products that are already available. Small community banks can already outperform SWIFT and correspondent banks in general in cost and speed with a single API license. This technical asymmetry does not remain for long and will not be just avoided completely just because you want your bags to pump.

This. XRP is obviously beneath LINK but their constant forced shit flinging keeps doing the opposite for the stinkers.

This is why you can tell they are highly competent and a good bet to hitch a wagon onto.

Why can't LINK's price at least follow the TVL of DeFi?

THIS MAKES A LOT OF SENSE WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT
THE ONLY NORMAL, WELL ADJUSTED SHILL IS BUBBA. THE REST OF THEM ARE WEIRDO SHUT IN LOSERS (FISHY, ESPECIALLY) THAT YOU KNOW HAVE NOTHING GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES OTHER THAN DEFENDING CHAINLINK'S HONOR ON SOCIAL MEDIA ALL DAY

Technology doesn't make deals, people do. It's the real reason that XRP will become the number one crypto again.
Unironically will replace bitcoin.

Every time the SEC has gone on a similar multi-year crusade and lost the company that won went parabolic. Tesla also had a 7 year long dispute with the SEC and look at them now. No other company in the crypto space is poised to do the same.

Also this. Retail "revolutionaries" just saw the corpo underdogs defeat the evil facist orange Hitler government. What does chainlink do? Attack the underdog story that everyone fell in love with!

I said no XRP discussion but if you really want to bring it up you do realize the CIO of SWIFT is on record publicly telling everyone XRP is not going to do anything that the baggies say and explaining to people that the world is going to be multi-chain and everything is happening through Chainlink, right?

It could, it happens before, even harder than that.

XRP did a 1000x in a years back in 2017
BNB went from $20 to $500 in a matter of weeks.

If LINK gets an actual switch on moment, a 10x is a few days/weeks isn't just possible, it's likely.
