This is after another failed business venture where she and another lady tried to flip old medical devices without realizing that they needed permits and would face high shipping costs.
She's upset every day because she constantly checks her listings and gets angry when nobody has viewed any of her items. Canadian here, I want to start contributing more to my RRSP. I use Questrade and they have their own little Questwealth where you just add the money to it and they invest it for you into a portfolio. I got a decent chunk of change in a self directed account on Questrade that I play around with but for my RRSP I don't want to have to go in every month and be buying things or just putting it into an index every month. There is more to it. When you buy stock you are betting the stock price will rise, sometime in the future, if it does not, you still own the stock. When you buy call options (the right to buy the stock at a certain price) you are betting the stock price will rise by a certain amount by certain time in the future, if not your option expires worthless.

There are many videos showing simple and very complex options strategies. Its safer and easier to just invest in good companies. If you want to try options only go very small on inexpensive stocks to see how they work. Look in the "wheel strategy" for a simple approach. You can lose money, just like buy stocks.
