You're not even greentexting correctly. I don't usually point out poor 4chan etiquette, but you're an obvious newfag. Like legitimately you need to lurk before posting.

KEK why not math or science (the real kind)?
It just has to be a useless liberal arts degree, huh?

My computer science graduation was the exact top kek.

The whole learn to code "it's the future" shilling since early school, combined with jeet outsourcing really did kill it. The truth is, software is all about automation at scale, so just a low two figure team of competent devs can manage a business of billions of dollars running thousands of servers just fine. You don't need that much more devs. While yes, software is becoming more and more part of economy and life, and that's not gonna stop, that does not directly translate to worker requirements as much. Me, I really am passionate with computers, but so many people went down the software path just because they were shilled how this was the only future by normies who were in turn shilled by tech executive wanting to reduce the high salaries.

Basically if you went into software without actually being passionate (autistic) for it, you wasted your time.

You have to be passionate about something profitable and top 10% at it to even have the normal standard of living enjoyed just 30 years ago in America. It’s fucking over.

Every single programmer I know is still programming except they do less work because of AI and are paid more for unknown reasons

Modern tools and technologies allow you to do so much with little knowledge and resources that people overestimate their abilities and don't actually know what competence in this field looks like. The industry has caught on and as a result there's been a mass shakeout of unqualified "developers" and people who only wanted in on the money and the hype but didn't want to put in the time and work to actually learn the profession to a level of competence. This shakeout will continue for the foreseeable fututre.

The people who either got in early or are truly good at what they do are still gainfully employed. The only difference now is that the field of software engineering is completely locked out to the career switchers who follow trends, which quite frankly is a good thing.

A regrettable consequence is that it's also very difficult for new grads, even the ones who are competent and passionate, but the ones who are brilliant are still finding work.

>how badly did codies get JUSTED
for those who are good, I'd say not bad at all.

I have a political science degree and because law schools changed their evaluation to favor 5.0 gpa over a 171 on the lsat I never got into any law school so I can guarantee there is no universe where PSCI will ever be useful, even with codies getting fucked right now you can still tech your way around this and that.
