Crypto officially sucks BALLS
I've been here since 2017
>still haven't made it
This is easily the most OPPRESSIVE horrific version of this market I've ever seen.
I'm literally about to necc
I can't take this much longer
Let's have a thread where we talk about how bad everything is and how much we want to die

If you were the lucky 0.01% you'd be praising crypto and completely dismiss the other 99.9%, saying they just lack the skills or something

Let's throw bitcoin out the window on this simply because we know that its the chosen one and most of us gambling degenerates put most of our money in alts trying to increase our bitcoin stacks.
We know bitcone is good. Always has been
Its always been the end game.
But most of us are human and make big mistakes due to greed.
Im talking about all the other bullshit.
I have a couple bitcoin but I dont even think about them because I consider it a savings account pretty much. Tgats the end game.
Yes BTC did great this year. Woopty doo. How bout everything else?

Ah, fair enough. I only just started dipping my toes into bitcoin (huge slowpoke I know), so I always get scared when people doom post about crypto in general.
Hope your alts end up mooning bro. Market being shit right now or not, I should start looking at all the alt coins

true it is terrible right now
but unlike in 2017 when it all gets banned and dies was a real possibility, now we know crypto is here to stay, it got fully adopted by the government of the largest market and there is no banning after the efts

at the same time we know with absolute certainty that the fiat scams time is up so there is no alternative you have to be heavy in fiat alternatives
the trick to not lose your mind is to have enough cash (10-20%) so that a major crash actually makes you happy for the buying opportunity
for make no mistake there is no stopping this train

Very true
I completely agree. Having cash on hand is necessity. (I don't)

>(I don't)
so trim your position, whats the problem its a very liquid market
even after a good pump it can be wise to trim a little bit so your ratio of cash remains high enough
do you even into the most of basic risk management

Not him and I do have a cash position now but I didn't for a long time and just DCA'd craptos so I'll play devils advocate. There's no point in holding cash and waiting for tiny dumps when the bear market bottom has passed, liquidity is rising and the market is poised to skyrocket at any moment. You can't time the pumps, they're almost random, so you need to just buy and hodl or you get left behind. It makes sense to riskmaxx in these conditions, but it does depend on your tolerance.
Anonymous (ID: ik6da3ox) No.60904739 >>60904800
>>60904714
its not about the tiny dumps, its a hedge against a general market crash that will drag crypto down with it
with the orange cheetoh in charge you have no idea which tweet can nuke the entire market or whatever bullshit
and the past 4 years have been max uncertainty and other just what the fuck shit happening, so some risk management is prudent
it becomes a thing once your net reaches a certain multiple of your yearly income at that point it becomes necessary for your sanity to remain holding a certain percentage in cash at all times
remember this for the future anon

>I wasn't on /biz/ in 2021, those buying the top must have believed a pump was due, and it's similar to now in a way.

You're overstating the risk desu, the market doesn't nuke itself on tweets, it tracks the liquidity cycle. Of course it also depends on what you consider risk. 10-20% dumps are common in this market and not a cause for concern. I myself am a risk management enjoyer but overall the last years and now and the immediate future is not the time to be bearish and overly hedge.
Anonymous (ID: ik6da3ox) No.60904822 >>60904840
>>60904800
>10-20% dumps are common in this market
thats even low volatility for crypto
now i am talking about the massive nukes that can happen from time to time
and yes the trade war heating up can absolutely destroy the market even against liquidity
case in point the eu being the max retards they are in fining big tech and trump will righteously retaliate

It makes sense to have a cash position in case of >3-sigma dumps, I agree with that, but the tradeoff is missing a >3-sigma pump out of nowhere, so you have to ask yourself how much upside you're willing to give up in order to hedge. Will have to agree to disagree on the rest, I think that's just noise.
Anonymous (ID: ik6da3ox) No.60904879
>>60904840
>how much upside you're willing to give up
i am not saying go 50% cash, i am advocating 10-20% depending on your risk tolerance
its really worth it for your mental health tho and the missed upside is limited
and let me stress this its mostly because the world is absolutely unpredictable right now, if this was 2016 i wouldnt advocate it but now lol

I've been saying the price will crab to milk the leveraged traders. There won't be another leg up until that income stream dries up.

I mean I feel ya but id like to have my current crypto position of 500k as well as like 300k in usdc. That would be prime. I had the option to do so but I fucked up and did the hodl meme and got blown the fuck out.
Anonymous (ID: 8AkS3ya+) No.60904939 >>60905058
Actually going way back, I had 27 bitcoin equivalent of my total crypto port. I was an early quant network guy and I had 27btc at peak. Really want to kill myself over that like every fuckin day man.
