You started $10k ahead of me
>bachelors of science in Mechanical Engineering
>$60k
Its ironic too considering society taught me how to make literal guided missiles and what parts of critical infrastructure to target and then proceeded to pay me like a literal slave.
Death to America. If you lose power or water in the coming years it was probably an engineer that got pushed a little too far.

Anything with the following in the title is going to land you a low tier job, and render you a low status male
>Engineering
>Studies

Oh so you don't like having power or water to your dwelling? Or roads and bridges to drive on? You think shitting in the street and the creek are perfectly acceptable activities?

I do also like my toilets clean but that doesn't mean I'd pay my janitor anything above minimum wage.
It's simple supply and demand, there are more engineers than needed, so companies can lower wages. Wages are a cost of doing business, so businesses try to minimise it as much as possible, the only way it will go up is if it is a scarce skill with low supply of workers, which mechanical engineering currently isn't.

Yeah. But you’re not an engineer.
Name something you’ve engineered that accords you the respect you think you’ve earnt? Name something that has been optimised and adopted due to your engineering inventions, or optimisations? Even in theory, or hell. Hypothetically.

If you have any measure of worth. Let’s test the value of your crux. You claim you are capable and qualified to excel. Show me?

Or do you need.. something.. so you can shine?

Engineering is impressive because of the ability to undertake the namesake. Unless your course taught you bitching and whining, you’ve demonstrated no competence whatsoever.

Most ‘engineers’ in title are not engineers, nor engineering. They are lowly paid positions for technical operators or compliance audit workers. Thinking engineer in your job title, actually makes you an engineer, is a misnomer. The titles are there to attract people dumb enough to try and take a shit paying role for a simple mislead.

Engineering makes you an engineer.
Incompetence just makes you incompetent.

If you are competent and capable, go and get paid well. Are you incapable?

Why did so many people on this board fall for this shit? Mechanical Engineers aren’t actually engineers. You’d be better off being a Walmart manager or something

You sound young. Salary is based primarily on nepotism and playing the people's game, that goes for engineers, programmers, finance bro's etc.

70k is a very good starting salary for a new grad. If you were making 70k with 15 years of experience as an engineer that would be a different story.
