I will never understand people who get rich and still choose to go to college.
>make it off stocks
>make it off crypto
>make a successful piece of software
Why? Because "that's what you are supposed to do" or "it's an accomplishment?" Yeah no thanks.

When I was studying at about 21 years old, an old man around 65 sat in one of the classes. He was a smoker like me, so we talked while smoking sometimes. He was retired and apparently sat for life, not that I had asked. He said he just wants to learn more about the subject.

For some people structured education in the way that traditional schooling works is the best way for them to learn, and making it gives you the freedom to learn whatever you want to.

I think it's just to meet girls and overall the opportunity to be in a clean and nice-looking environment instead of wasting away in your home by yourself, skipping showers and becoming an antisocial slob.

If money were no object or schooling was free here in the U.S., I would academiamaxx hardcore and basically never leave school. There are so many aspects of my field that I'm interested that would take me decades to master.

College is supposed to be a place where you learn, experience and get cultured. I didn’t go for a job. I went because I wanted to change my thought process and I did.

If I make it I’m going back to college. I’m interested in being a social worker and therapist and you need a degree and license to do that in the US. I have hobbies and lots of interests, but for many years I’ve wanted to do that and the only thing stopping me is I can’t afford to just quit my job and go back to school. Have kids to feed. I’m in my 40s, and I might make it within the next year or two.

So at least one reason - because you have to in order to be able to do certain things legally. Hope this helps.

Sure is a great thing that rather than invest our vast budgets towards enabling maestros to become useful to society, we just put a lot of cash into tax credits so companies can be overrun with low IQ jeets that run them into the ground ha ha

Some people just like to learn, and universities can also be comfy if the facilities and property are well maintained. When I makeit I'll probably start my own business but on the side I'll audit a course per term and just stack knowledge and expertise in whatever I'm interested in like math, physics, philosophy, latin, greek, music... many possibilities. I know most people can't understand this because they're lazy and don't like to learn things.

going to college when you're rich is to find a wife and to find rich friends

I studied int relations and focused primarily on military analysis. i was supposed to become a glowie but just as a I graduated covid hit and i never got vaxxed, so i'm blacklisted kek.
and i have no regrets because i achieved a high average mark and got tons of commendations from my professors. doing all that research and writing all those essays and reports really did wire my brain in a way that now, I'm constantly driven and able to do pretty much anything (doing construction estimation now and i slipped into it sooo easily).
university to me represents an IQ check that surprisingly many don't pass and the consequences are indian-tier lackadaisical and corner-cutting behaviour because grinding through a whole course with high marks at the end is a tough and sculpting experience, and everyone just wants it easy.

Life is for living. Money doesn't exist for others to just simply do nothing with themselves, you have to live life both the good parts and the stressful parts. wether that's productive or not doesn't really matter because I'm talking about human purpose. Our purpose is to make and achieve tasks, that's it. No task? no humanity.

Because learning new stuff is fun. Do you really think Brian May went back to school after Freddie died because he needed that PhD to pay the bills?

If I had a billion dollars I would go to college just to pick up 19 y/o gf's.
