My plan now is to get my credit card debts down to below $300 and start saving for an S&P 500 investment account. I will add $250 to the current savings account each paycheck, and eventually move a large chunk of it into a high yield savings account.

Honestly I’m curious what his thought process even is, with paying it down to $300. And being happy he has 10000 savings. So that means he’s been accruing ~20% interest monthly on his credit card balance. Anon, please listen to me, never ever EVER carry a balance on your credit card. Yes, use it for every purchase for the points but always pay it off end of month.

I know, I have been shocking it to get to the $10,000. Now I will pay it down and do my best to keep the balance at zero. In the meantime, any robinhood or coin base investments you'd recommend?

Pay it off bro. Right now. The whole balance. And if it ever comes to a point where you can’t keep the balance at zero you shouldn’t be investing, cause you’re not going to out-earn the appreciation of your debt because the APR on credit cards is criminal. And unironically chain link. Buy 25 Stinkies and half an eth. Or gold miners or silver miners. DYOR, don’t gamble and β€œ invest” in shit coins or slop. And have patience.
Anonymous (ID: 6hi2JwKf) No.60960586
Always pay off credit during the interest free period. Only carry a balance of debt if you have near zero or zero interest. The only acceptable time to hold credit card debt is after an ftx type crash and buying firesale bitcoin.

The points are a trap for most people, they save you a few hundred a year at most, but if you average a mere 1k balance during this time it completely negates any points since it’ll accrue $200-300 in interest. The average normie is probably accruing well over $1000 in interest every year (avg balance is $6000, median probably a bit lower).

This is why Dave Ramsey’s advice to avoid credit cards works for most people. Most people are retards

hello new friend. brokerage accounts are free. in fact they usually pay *you* to open one. you should be depositing your money directly into a brokerage account and not using a savings account at all.
