But really, how did they do that?
99.9% of the volume of course done by bots and triggered algos…but even so, that was an impressive feat.

Dumping through the order books on every cex and dex at the same time has got to require a pretty large upfront expenditure (that of course they get back) not to mention all the wallets and accounts that would need to hold enough spot of all the shitty little altcoins to dump through all the buy orders on on every crypto on all the cex and dex?

Who has the wherewithal to pull that off? The cex would have to know which accounts were behind it.

they don't need to coordinate across every cex and dex. bots will do the job for them when they notice the arb opportunity

But they are not going to incriminate themselves.

stop asking questions anon. if they find out you know their secret you will get a phone call. now listen to me, if you get that phone call, it's OVER. they will offer you a deal. whether you say yes or no really doesn't matter, both options suck. keep your mouth shut. tell nobody. you know, i know you know. i know too. but we must protect ourselves from them knowing we know. you know what i mean? i hope i didn't say too much;.

You wont believe me but these things can happen naturally when every retard from twitter is trading leverage on hyperliquid and was expecting an alt season. So they all went max long, then the trump dump happened and then later 1 big sale likely was enough to trigger liquidations which were so much that a chain reaction was triggered.

Binance probably holds the largest supply of alts across the board. They do this type of shit all the time.

They need to coordinate across enough of them because other bots will just arbitrage any exchange that they didn’t cover. The price of Atom went to 0.

Sell offs obviously happen and bots get triggered and it waterfalls etc. But the depth and breadth of this one implies that it was more than just triggered bots.

This and way too much cross leverage. It's the default setting on hyperliquid and all these first timer perp gamblers won't change it 99% of time.

I actually didnt see that much uptober hype but I will take your word for it as i don’t go on twitter or social media much.

If this was an operation, and I am pretty sure it was, then advertising to generate hype would make the rug pull that much easier.

Daily crypto trading volume is between $300bn and $400bn. Even if a lot of that is wash trading, it would still require $20bn in coordinated volume to move the market like that.

Newfags.

This altcoin nuke followed by an instant rebound has never happened before and we had much worse BTC crashes in the past.
This time most top 100 alts crashed 70% within minutes.

>>61084650
Liquidations on perps do not directly affect spot prices. It's bots doing arb between certain markets and MMs placing their limit orders accordingly.
Futures positions are not backed by the underlying asset, they are stablecoin settled so nothing gets sold on the spot market after a long liquidation.
Some alts on spot markets went close to zero, but perps didn't quite follow.

>>61084516 (OP)
Some guesses:
> API or system failure on exchanges
> Coordinated attack on perps to liquidate trades
> Malfunctioning bots or MMs not catching up with the markets
> Forced liquidations on lending platforms / margin leveraged spot positions

The orderbooks are quite thin on most exchanges because there is such a huge selection of alts + exchanges and not many people trade spot anymore.
Perp dexs are killing alts now. People are longing random alts instead of bidding spot.
