I recently bought a bunch of German Mark from the 1800s and i really like them
Part of why i like them is that used to be regular money people actually used to buy everyday items and not just regular bullion coins that you put in a safe somewhere and never touch but they are reall worn and some of them even lost a lot of weight
Overall the whole coins should have been 500g of pure silver but because of the wear and tear its down to around 490g Silver
I put all my silver coins in a wooden chest that i safely store in a safe and every now and then i take it out to look at my coins and touch them a bit but im worried that storing them that way over a long time might be a bad idea now
I have pretty much everything in here from 9999 fine silver bullion all the way at the bottom to regular junk silver that i just put in there without much thinking about it
I cant put every single coin in an capsule like i do with my gold coins that would take forever and just isnt feasable

Taking it out a few times a year and rubbing it does literally nothing, and the tarnish is a protective layer that actively forms and prevents the underlying silver from tarnishing / disappearing.

You still are getting shafted by inflation till you pull it out I obviously opted out of that scam and started a few businesses with the extra cash that provide an actual yield.
