>The idea that tariffs are taxes on billionaires is purely an idea. The tariffs just end up being tacked onto the consumer price,
They don't.
I don't see TVs, routers, mobile phones etc doubling in price.
What I see, in fact, is that prices of those stayed the same.
How could that be?
Boomer billionaires made huge profits when they closed factories in US and moved them to China.
It is 3-5 times cheaper to manufacture stuff in China than in US (the products are also much lower quality).
So, when BB and BBC profit margins went 5x as they exported manufacturing to china, they have enough fat to pay 100% tariffs when products land on US soil.
>Additionally, Trump is not going to win an economic battle against china like this.
Let me try again.
He doesn't. His goal is to ONSHORE, bring back to US,
manufacturing and $10 TRILLION dollars that large companies hide in offshores.
You have no idea what you are arguing about.
