>be me, in my late 30's
>decide one day to check out the prices of homes in the working/lower middle class suburb I grew up in late 80's/90's
>house 1: $4,385,000
>house 2: $6,500,000
>house 3: $3,990,000
>house 4: $5,582,000
>house 5: $2,959,399
>townhouse 1: $1,205,000
>townhouse 2: $1,460,000
>house 6: $11,600,000

Since when the fuck did everyone become a multi-gorrilionaire? My parents bought a house in that suburb for $74,000 in 1985.

No, nobody became gorrilionaire. Boomer prices.
Boomer prices are collapsing right now all over the country. Just wait, it will all collapse by 20-30% shortly.

The real estate prices are currently collapsing , we are in 2006-2007 era of a previous housing bubble (also boomer created).
Wait, the housing prices are currently collapsing,
look at 2006-2007 charts and what happened next few years, this is what we are looking at right now.

>Mclean, maryland / Virginia border
>next to Washington DC
Nevermind, ignore that.
Washington DC is producing a MASSIVE FOUNTAIN of billions of $ of free cash that the US gov took from taxpayers.
The 1 - 2 hour area around DC is where those billions of $ of mostly taxpayer money is flooding. So of course houses are crazy expensive in that area.

In the 1980s my dad got a big raise for passing professional exams and getting professional license. He went to $37k and my mom started dancing because she thought we were so well off from that. We actually went to Disney World.

The 80s and 90s were the peak of American existence. It’s sad how quickly it all went to shit.

It's not regular people.
Most Anglo-sphere countries, as far as I know, will let anyone buy real estate there.
Where I live in the United States there has been a very significant presence of overseas Chinese investment into real estate.
It is less about making more money and more about preserving money by getting it out of China and therefore out of reach from the Chinese government.
Additionally, large asset managers like BlackRock are active participants in the real estate market.
I don't know exactly what they do but these kinds of financial institutions have incredibly sophisticated ways of repacking debt or moving things across internal balance sheets and I am sure they're using it generate significant tax relief as well.
Basically, the average person in the Anglosphere, specifically the United States, is competing against is competing against the largest financial institutions in the world as well as international professional level investors for a home your grandparents bought 75 years ago with their savings from the refrigerator factory they started working at when they graduated high school.

It's bad everywhere, man. I live in an Eastern European, post-soviet country. In the early 90s my parents bought a very nice big house for $30k USD (actual USD, it was common to use USD for major purchases back then since the local currency was so unstable). How much do similar houses in that same neighborhood cost? About 550k euro. Back when they bought their house my dad was a truck driver, my mom was a florist - very ordinary jobs that anyone could do. Nowadays you'd have to be the CEO of a successful company to be able to afford something like this. The world has definitely shitflated in the last 30 years.

>Inflate the shit out of the currency
>Invite lots of shit skins to inflate the population
>Implement lots of zoning laws and regulations to prevent new houses from being built
Its not rocket science why your parents house is now worth a couple of millions, anon.
The only reason why there hasn't been a revolt is because half the population don't even have an inner voice.
