I was the guy asking about covered call etfs and their premiums in the last thread.
If I understood correctly, if I now invest 10k in a covered call etf with 8% "dividend" yield (actually it's the premium, not a dividend), I'd get paid 800 over the next year if the nav stays the same (8% of 10k).
But if the market crashes and the nav goes down by 50% (so now its 5k instead of 10k), then I'd get paid 400 instead (8% of 5k).
Is this correct?

However, if the market does crash... and since the etf is selling calls... then the calls would never hit the strike price (since the price is quicky falling), so the etf should keep the underlying stocks while still collecting the premiums... am I right? Is this how covered calls behave during a crash? Would this lead to the etf distributing more money during the crash, since it's being paid premiums without having to sell the stocks?
