I judge harsher than I think I should.

If I see wrinkled fresh out of the bag cosplay I think of how talentless they must be to not even be able to use an iron let alone a sewing machine.
But then I feel bad that's it's probably some young teen with a less than stellar home situation who was never taught some basic lessons and their parents probably would never approve of cosplay so they just snuck it in their bag.

If I see very fat cosplay that is elaborately trimmed with gems, lace, fur ect I think they should have spent what was clearly a long time on losing a large chunk of those pounds instead of how long that costume took. Especially if they are fat enough to have a front butt.
But then I remember I know nothing of their past or their health and it's none of my fucking business what they find joy in. They are a person also and deserve to have a good time just like anyone else.

If I see a very pretty cosplayer I assume they made none of their outfit and lie about it though omission or outright.
I still assume this and figure they gotta get their jollies too. Until they realize that the internet says pretty faces have an expiration date and better have an actual skill before that happens.

I went to a con for the first time and also cosplayed for the first time a couple of months ago.
It was just an Ezcosplay with a few improvements/modifications, but tons of people told me it looked great or stopped me to ask for pictures. All the attention felt great, I'm so used to feeling invisible but in those 2 days I got more compliments than I've gotten in the past decade.

Kids have brightened a lot of my cosplay/con experiences and never cause any bullying or sexual harassment issues. Its not acceptable to want kids out of a con thats not adult exclusive or kink themed. I went to hs with the guy who got me into cosplay. He was kind of autistic and on the low end of the totem pole in hs and I was middle to upper end (only bc I was decent-ish looking and could get alcohol underage). He invited me to hang out with his cosplay crew and some friends of friends at a con, which included a Miku cosplayer he had serious feelings for and was working himself up to ask her out. I ended up getting everyone drunk and hooking up with her during the con and ditching her not long afterwards bc I could smell the crazy a mile away. When he found out he tried to play it cool but the way he looked at me with such vitriol and hatred, I knew how he truly felt. Most of his friends took my side bc he never made a full move on her but I still felt bad bc I knew she was only ever going to be nothing but a fling to me and everything to him but I still smashed anyways, ended up kinda splitting up that friend group too afterwards. 8+ years later and I still feel guilty, I go to cons all over now and he doesn’t really go to any anymore.

I stopped going to cons because people kept propositioning me or trying to get me to agree to weird casual sex and the whole thing started to feel like a big contrived excuse to fuck. I just wanted to look at booths with stuff I like and cool costumes. I'm not female nor attractive so I don't understand what the deal is, for a while I thought this was just the subculture's way of bullying people until they leave but it kept happening. Even mentioning this makes me feel like it's bragging somehow. I wish nerds weren't so weird and horny.
