Our dollar is in the shitter so you'll save a ton of money on expenses. Best touristy con is Otakuthon. Montreal is cool enough to justify adding an extra day before or after the con to see the city. It seems a newer one "Tri-Con" is being hosted at the Kitchener Museum in February, and there was a revived Kitchener Comic-Con that started up a few months ago.

According to some people from my group that went previous years, there has been. One of the most common things I heard during the convention were random people talking to staff asking about where the coat check was. Also, there apparently was no first aid station, which was a big oof on Saturday when a some people had hurt themselves in the crush.
