>>10947384This is an actual Lolita dress, but the problem is people on /cgl/ are oldschool lolita's they don't consider a lot of Chinese Lolita dresses to be lolita and usually prefer for people to wear mainly well known brand name dresses from Japan like AP/Baby/Moite ect. or to wear more well known taobao pieces from brands like Infanta ect.
This dress is a Chinese dress, and in China they don't follow all the same standards and rules when it comes to design that Japanese lolita's do. American's are traditionalists and think that any stray from the standards of what they deem JP Lolita style automatically makes a coord ita, even if in some cases it isn't- that being said most of this thread is though imo, bad styling, matching shit that doesn't go together ect. Being blouseless in 101 F heat isn't "ita" it's called being sane, unless you find heat stroke to be a worthy experience all in the name of fashion.
This person's coord is ita, socks and choker look ridiculous but if they were changed, this would be fine, unless you want to add the grave sin of her being chubby.
As someone who's visited Japan and wore Lolita there and saw other Lolita's, it's not as "huge" of a fashion as there as these threads make it seem, and it's honestly bigger in China of all places where a lot of these "weird" more "costumey-lolita" dresses come from, these dresses can still be considered lolita as they can be coorded properly and have the right silhouette and calling them "ita" just from their designs is pretty subjective.
The gulls in this thread may hate what they deem as "clo-lita" but it doesn't change the fact that the fashion is bigger in China than in Japan in recent years and the sub-styles are growing and changing.
