I'm trying to go as Orange this year, so maybe some more PC-98 characters, I guess. Could make for some cool photos.

Pretty glad to see a number of narcissistic faggots I didnt want to see drop out of going to the con over the drama. And its never because of any actual events that transpired but their own egos playing into things, clearly they're next to be targeted et al.

What happened to the booth selling doujins from the first Touhoufest? I didn't see them this past one. I seem to recall an Anon mentioning they were a part of that or something. Did they not get allowed back for selling hentai?

Why are idiots complaining about guest cosplayers at series specific con? I couldnt care for any of them one bit but isnt it just guest filler for basically no real cost or effort to the con? Or is it like people just salty they're not the ones featured? Its all so stupid to worry over.

this is going to be the most boring ass convention in a long while. Even the brony conventions of early 2010s had more shit going for itself than this con this year.

The insufferable staff and the multiple straight out false promises made to the audience make me question how any of you put money for this circus. One can wish another group appears and makes a con like this properly in the future, in a better state too.

NTA above but it's actually kinda true, a lot of people I hoped going either dialed it back or decided not to go to touhoufest because someone dropped from the event... again... I've asked 3 people in management for some clarity on things only to get 5 different responses that really were nothing responses anyways. I hope this con doesn't go away just fixes the internal issues from leaking to the public perception and in term those of us attending from having to deal with.

Pretty much what I've done the past few times. Buying anything interesting I find from the vendors, going to a lot of panels, watching the good performances, and playing around a bunch in the game room. I hope I can get some good pics of my Fumos with some cosplayers, especially the more obscure characters.

They got Reitaisai(the big touhou event in Japan apparently) people coming and I can not wait for the sheer "oh shit" moment they have when they see it's a bunch of troons running around with pride flags and free Palestine. I am planning on going this year because I am so close and some friends are already going...but what they said in their discord announcing it like it's anything but going to backfire one can only wait and see.

This is what I wonder, Reitaisai is mostly a market with some cosplay and events mixed in for fun. Touhoufest the last 2 years has been just a meetup of a lot of crossdressers. From what I know of reitaisai it's only a market and not an event like conventions here in the west.

It was really fun. The cosplay girl A-ONE had was painfully cute, artist alley was even better this year, and the concert was really hype! Miko was a sweetheart. I hope she's able to return next year.
There was a weird booth though. I overheard a conversation from one of the vendors that the A.C.E. booth commissioned someone for a drawing and didn't tell them they'd be printing it out on buttons and shirts and selling those things. The commission was apparently $14 total (I swore that was the number I heard but that's so cheap it doesn't sound right).

I have no idea which piece of art it was, but I just went with my gut and didn't buy anything from the booth. If they did that to one artist, they probably did it with all the merch they had (there were different art styles on their stuff).

This con has an organization problem. I had a question for my friend about vendoring logistics, and three different staff members gave me three different answers.

As a vendor I had the same experience. Questions had to go through 5 or 6 different people before they came to an answer. The organization is a huge problem. Heard a lot of murmurs from AA and vendors about them being disgruntled with staff. my thoughts are the overall the con is fantastic and I love going to it because of the attendees, and it seems to go well every year. But eventually one year something bad is going to happen and they won't be prepared for it. I have a lot of hope for TF and want them to get things straight because it really is a special con.

I'm a vendor and agree. The communication was terrible. They gave so many conflicting announcements "AA will close at 5pm!" then another staff comes by "it will close at 7pm".

The ACE guy is very weird too. He became staff this year and was terrible at communicating. Noticeably, him, Cloudie, and other people in charge of vendor stuff all were saying different thing.
