random Q to any cosplayers out there: were there any cosplays you did of a character no one in a public space knew about?

I have cosplayed as multiple characters from Kamen Rider series and had no one recognize them (or at least no one talk to me about them), but they also were female characters not in suit, so if you only have a passing knowledge, I get not realizing who they are

Kinda the inverse. I've been on the fence about doing Monogatari for a while (not even sure who), but I just came from a con and saw exactly one. So yeah, maybe not the best idea sadly

"Inverse", in the sense that it's someone else doing a cosplay and basically no one else knew what it was. It made me talk myself out of it, since I'll no doubt get the same treatment

I cosplayed as Frank West at quite a few conventions in Scotland and my character was recognised by about two middle aged men and two heavily autistic guys, this was over the course of three or so different conventions. My cosplay for the most part I'd say was accurate to Frank West, accurate enough for them to recognise me anyways. Has Dead Rising really fallen out of the public eye, even with the remake of 1? (Which was ass).

That's lame. I always wanted to stress as Frank and run around with a big camera and business cards that link to where I'd upload the photos.
Honestly, other than whenever the 360 released, and DR2, I don't think it was really that popular.

Most obscure character I ever dressed as was probably Kei Yuuki from Moyashimon. Not one person knew it. Next would probably be Golden Boy. But a couple people have recognized it.

bonus Q for anyone who isn't a cosplayer; are there any obscure characters you wanna see cosplayed IRL?

It's annoying that there are "obscure" cosplays in the first place. More people should be dressing up in interesting costumes from shows they like instead of the glut of "school uniform + wig" and all the hyper-popular shit everyone has seen already. Imagine if people actually liked things instead of attention...

What are you? Twelve? People bring that show up constantly.

I'd think the interesting thing about some more obscure cosplays is basically being an advertisement for it if/when people ask about where it's from.
