Going to MomoCon myself. I've only been to a local con in my area, which was rather small, so going out of state to a presumably bigger convention is a little nerve wracking yet exciting. Not going as anything big or flashy, just a simple shirt and clothes that resemble John Egbert. I'd like to go as his God Tier but I don't think I'd have the time nor money.

I think given the current political environment, people aren't as excited to go, knowing that the market for cons, which was already pretty bad is going to get a whole lot worse. George Renaissance Festival. It's about half hour southwest of Atlanta. Lasts from April 12 to June 1st (only open on the weekends). I'm told it's one of the bigger Renaissance fairs in the country so I hope it's a good one to start on.

Been attending this con for years. Will likely go anyway despite the schedule being lame. The issue here is not that these panels exist, it's that there are like 15 of them spread out over the entire con. You could have filled those slots with something actually interesting instead of letting ten blerds go sit in a room and discuss the importance of letting blacks use their natural hair when cosplaying. 1 or 2 of these types of panels is whatever, clearly enough of these people attend to warrant them having a space of their own. If you're white you should be fine, most crime is black on black and if you're staying up in midtown you're not in a really bad area, South of tech is a bad part of town so avoid that. I grew up in Marietta and have walked around atl in the middle of night solo plenty of times and the worst that's ever happened is some homeless dudes asked me for some cash. I used to live in Denver and the homeless there were way worse, unresponsive drug zombies that would threaten you on occasion, in atl they just ask for cash or try to sell you shit. All anecdotal of course, but I've never had any issues at momocon or awa.

I go downtown every fucking weekend (Uber though) from 15 miles up north of where the con is. And I hang around until 4AM drunk as fuck every time at the local rave/EDM scenes. Never had any issues.

People take the MARTA to get the airport with luggage every damn day, it's probably the most common usage. It is annoying to deal with hobbling homeless but unless you're coming in at a weird time you'll likely be on the train with mostly normal people.

Only thing you'll need to keep in mind is MARTA closes around 2AM so if you're leaving the con late you'll have to Uber instead, hopefully your hotel isn't too far north.

Momocon is weird in the sense that all the blerds I met were way the fuck more cultured than the out of towners when it came to anime. Like straight up when me and my roommate were doing the Zaku / Gouf / Zeon trooper group, we had Sieg Zeons and hitler saluts thrown at us by them while the white feddies just looked in disgust. I had a blast at MomoCon this year! I wish the cops in the courtyard weren't dicks all weekend but oh well. Thursday night's courtyard had the best vibes but Saturday was fun till I blacked out LOL. I browse the internet exclusively on PC. I only use cellphones for calls, text or pictures. That's why I took a picture from my monitor. But seeing as printed ticket worked that's what I'll be doing from now on unless they stop accepting that.

I don't know about that, I was able to talk to and record a skateboarding gigi murin on Sunday in normie just fine, we even had a convo about how I still have one of the stickers she handed me back during my first Momo in Gura on my sewing machine. I had plenty of people approach on Thurs through Sat in either Gundam or Sentai shit. Some of the convos were awkward, but awkward in the pause way, rather than like, not being able to carry a convo. I guess it really depends on if you catch people on a good time or a bad, but I was usually pretty free.
