Saw a photoshoot on a pedestrian bridge last summer. Nice bright day, but already too warm for normal clothes and doubly so for the steampunk/gothic outfit the model was wearing. It was really crowded with loud foreigner families from the nearby park too, seemed like a pretty unpleasant experience all things considered

I have a couple of instances where I some cosplayers in the wild but with photoshoots? Just once, I remember walking with my sis as we explored little tokyo in L.A. and next to the southside mall I spotted some group of 4 chicks huddled together taking group shots, I was staring at them from a far for a sec before I quickly looked away as I thought I was acting like a freak just staring at them. Still have no Idea what they were cosplaying as...

I did, at an abandoned industrial site turned public park. It's a popular location for cosplayers and I intend to get a shooting done there eventually. Whenever I see them I usually mind my own business, as I have little to do with the rest of the cosplay scene.

There's a lakeside park in my city. In it, the municipality has a venue there for weddings and such, but it is open to the public. It has really nice gardens and old recreated arches and architecture for when they put on theatre plays. This place is literal catnip for local cosplayers. When I visit the park to get to a fire pit spot, I just strike up a conversation with them if they're taking a break. And give them tips on other cool spots to take scenic shots from of the lake and the ridge-line.

I've done them myself. (face blurred because she'd kill me if I posted an unedited pic, even though she's cute irl). Not sure if I've ever run into somebody else doing one outside of a con though, if I did I'd chat with them and show them some of my stuff if it seemed appropriate (wouldn't barge in while they're actively shooting) or just smile and keep going.
