I like Murphys more than Guinness. A bit more dry. Smithwicks Red is pretty good.

Guinness is one of the finest beers known to man. It hurts my soul to know that heterosexuals like OP exist.

I didn't like that it's not fizzy enough. The first couple of times I tried it I thought I bought some expired bottles or cans. The taste is not bad tho.

No, the Irish famously don't know much about alcohol.

Try normal Guinness in the can. Not the bottle. The can is the best Guinness. Also murphies is good

Guinness is fairly terrible, and if I have another person tell me its good at the brewery in Ireland I hope someone blows up their car just to show them why.

I've had a couple other Irish beers, I think Murphy's and one other. But no, there aren't many good Irish beers. Even their whiskeys aren't kinda crap. In Ireland's defense, I'm all the way over in the US so I likely don't have access to the actually good beers if any exist. Does it have to be an Irish beer?

"Normal" Guiness you are referring to is nitrogenated (and a shitty version of draught), the bottle is actually the closet to the original carbonated Guinness (and is superior to the can)

Though the harsh truth many other Irish people can't accept is, Guiness is really just a mediocre macrobeer. It's fine, but pretty much every craft brewer here makes a better stout

Really love what the Kinnegar guys do, their porters and black lagers especially

t. someone who has never drank outside the pale.

Guinness here in Ireland is also.sold.in pint bottles but not like the one in the OP. It's quite fizzy and actually refreshing. Where I'm from you can have it off the shelf or out of the cooler. Much nicer than draft I find.

I went to Dublin and it sucked. It was like Irish Disneyland for Americans.
Why is it like this? Is it just because the USA had so many Irish?

If a well carbonated lager is soda then what does that make a flat stout? Sewage?
>>21397065
It's because Dublin is a soulless economic zone. I had the same experience but I didn't question it because a lot of Europe is the same now. Especially if you spent your time at Temple Bar, which I'm sure you did as that's where tourists go. If you're in Ireland then it makes no sense to stay in Dublin. Smaller towns and nice uncrowded landscapes are a short drive away. Although I'm guessing it's all gonna disappear in the next 2 decades and its beautiful rolling meadows, even though the product of deforestation, will be replaced by shanty shacks and open defecation.
