What did you get when you went?

Was it good?

I went to a local one a few times before they closed down. I was just getting old enough to go where I wanted on my own as a kid. It was in an independent pharmacy. I had a vanilla coke, lemon coke, and some ice cream / coke drink. It was all delicious. I wish we still had places like that. Now they have all been replaced by bland corporate mcdicks, that serve a never ending supply slop.

Yeah we still have this in my city. I got a Coke once. It was good but nothing I'd go out of my way for.

We had a Woolworth's with one in Augusta, as well as a Sky City when I was really little. I got Icees from the Sky City one, and Cherry Cokes (mixed) from Woolworth's. There's nothing magical about the old fountains, but mixed on the fly flavored Cokes are awesome.

i've never been to a real one, but i make my own soda syrups and mix it with carbonated water. you can larp as a pharmacist when you make interesting alcohol extractions of herbs/spices to flavor the syrup. that's how they were doing it back in the day

No wonder? I'd call that wonder if it were truly in the woods. You fucked up, anon. It's not in the woods.

I grew up in the sticks, but when I went off to college there was an old timey soda shop and ice cream parlor. Managed to stay in business until I graduated, but it's a phone store and a few other shops now. I rarely went, wasn't really a fan but I'm not too keen on sweets.
