I don't get all the rave about our cuisine. It's not bad but I can't say I've been actually impressed with a traditional dish and it's too much work for something of "just ok" quality to actually bother cooking on a frequent enough basis. Greek is really rare in the United States and every time I find a greek place its shit. I do cook greek food at home a lot but its mostly just adding lemon juice lemon zest and oregano to a potato and chicken baked dish. Gyros are pretty good but yeah its not a big thing here and it's just not the best food in the world. In greece you can get good fish like anywhere in the med.
