They taste better, frog. Organic doesn't necessarily mean better. I have never tasted an organic tomato that tasted better than one I picked 30 seconds ago from my tiny garden box.

I wish I could find actual tomatoes in stores instead of the red tasteless balls of water

I can buy tomatoes from some local grower, they taste great. I only eat organic not for the taste, I try to avoid the poison they bath them with, even if organic isn't perfect, they at least try to pretend they aren't trying to kill me.

They are ridiculously easy and cheap to grow. If you grow an indeterminate type they literally start growing like weeds. You can do it on a deck or patio in a cheap ass growbag, or you can use a 5 gallon bucket from a hardware store. Start will a smaller variety like cherry.

I'm working on it, bought a house last October and have been working on all kinds of stuff in the yard. I've got arugula, Swiss chard, chives that have all been doing well, but my tomato plants and my friggitelli plants are still growing, haven't fruited yet.

Also grow bell peppers, watermelon, jalapenos, green onion, and some herbs.

My plot of land has almost no sun because of all the trees and shit soil.
I'm happy with my raspberries and nordic berries but that's pretty much everything I can grow, even the hardy herbs struggle.

Home gardener here I always wind up with way too many and a mini mountain of them ripening on the countertop quicker than I can eat em. Tried making gazpacho and marinara sauce a couple times but both were just way too labor intensive for the high summer heat that coincides with tomato season. Eggplant on the other hand I canโ€™t seem to grow for shit, go figure

There are a lot of problems in the world but having too many tomatoes seems like a pretty good problem to have. If you have too many just give them away to neighbors and friends. You have friends, don't you anon?

freshly picked tomatoes have something on the skin that is missing from commercial tomatoes. i think they wash it off which is why they are always inferior
