The box meals suck though. I don't want a soda and just chips and cheese to get one of these. I'll pour the soda out, and I'd rather have a bag of corn chips and tostitos cheese sauce than whatever I'm getting.

This isn't one of those "you can make it better at home" things, it's that a whole bag of chips and premade nacho sauce are actually cheaper.

One of my local Tex-Mex restaurants has a dish called "Crispy Cheesy Tacos" and it's basically an upscale version of the Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Quite delicious, actually, this thread has reminded me to get it again soon.

Depends on the box but they cost more usually.

Consider a common one is like Chicken Chalupa Supreme, that alone should be more expensive than a CGC because it has chicken and tomatoes, but then add in a large burrito, and a crunchy taco, plus side and drink and you've already gotten every ingredient used in the CGC price wise but more.

It's cause they're loss leaders, they know enough people just blindly order without looking at meals or combos, so they offer these to keep those who do quiet enough while they jack up the regular menu items. It's no surprise why all the value meal shit is shown at the bottom of the menu anymore lol

I dont go often and sucks how their menu has changed, like you used to be able to get a meal combos that came with a taco. Now its just some bullshit like chips or fries or cinnamon things, fuck those. Plus shits too expensive now, I only buy it if I forgot my lunch that day and Im desperate and wont have time to run home and eat.

Also.. remember when you could get a grande meal for like 10 bucks? Last time I did that I was in college and was super stoned and ate the whole thing, AND an extra taco supreme. Then went home, cracked a beer and no sooner did the first swig of beer hit my guts and the taco bell lurking in there, I shit myself. Luckily the bathroom was close.
