What are some instances where you felt ripped off for a meal?? Bad quality, service etc…

I went to this barbecue place years ago, it was overpriced and the food was terrible and it closed down like a week or two later. I'm still pissed off

I had brisket, pic related is from their Yelp page that's still up and you can see how terrible it is. I believe it was around $20 per person, so with drinks, tax, and tip ended up around $60 for me and my gf (roughly a decade ago so far before COVID inflation)

A friend invited me to one of this "burger eatery" type things. I didn't even pay for anything and I still felt ripped off. Fucking fantasy prices for "deluxe" slop.

Calhoun's in Knoxville TN. That place is a complete meme. In ordered fish and chips one time and I got two chicken nugget sized Sysco fish "fillets" with slimy fish inside and the fried were cold and shit tilt strewn on the plate.

Their BBQ is sub par either and the corn on the cob is ALWAYS cold, the mashed potatoes are gummy and have skins, their Mac n cheese is a gelatinous reheated tray of shit. I believe 90% of guests get meme'd into going there, I only ever went because of free academic events

My local chipotle can be unbelievably stingy when it comes to what they consider a portion of meat. Nothing like being asked to pay $15 for a single bite of chicken on a pile of beans and rice .. that bullshit will ruin your whole day

all the indian restaurants around me charge like $20 for the cheapest lentil dish. it comes with fresh bread and chutneys and stuff like that but $20 for lentils is still a little crazy even if i love lentils. i only ever feel it's worth it with most of the them to go for a lunch buffet.

Went to a pub recently and ordered the Aussie style carbonara with extra noodles and cheese. It was half a bowl, the other side was filled with giant garlic bread pieces to further carb load the meal and hide the crappy portion size, it tasted okay but it was clear that they’d given me the standard portion. I’m not even a fat fuck but hiding your shittt cost cutting measures behind stuff like that pisses me off. They didn’t even have a good coffee machine, the thing was analog display from the 90s and trickled out some god awful premix shit that tasted watery and horrible. Entire bill was about 32$ a complete rip. Talked to the manager and he clearly didn’t give a fuck since times are tough and struggling businesses will Jew customers instead of fixing their problems. Next time I’m just going to take the extra time and drive to a country cafe and stop by their delis.

Got dragged along to a local millennial bar that serves gay ipas and overpriced Americanised food. A single burger with fries is like 35$, dirty tots with cheese was like 25, “Philly cheesesteak (steak strips covered in cheese sauce, mushrooms, onions and capsicum) was like 25 and the thing was made on a hotdog roll. I was told “Le food is good!” Cleary by someone who was just drunk when they ordered and soaked up the booze with goyslop food. The food itself was painfully average and you could get better portions and technique going somewhere else for much cheaper, also the wait staff were all tatted up backpackers or unenthused dorks putting in zero effort, the waitress gave me her number and I got dome so not an entirely wasted opportunity. It really was the embodiment of stomp clap hey meme: bad style no substance.

Last I heard they closed most days due to staffing issues and half their menu was cut. Barely held up by musician bookings.
