I remember when AYCE would average 15 dollars per person for the average sushi and Chinese joint, now those places charge close to 50 bucks for lower quality and less variety.

Realistically the USA needs to start subsidizing food production like they do in malaysia. i ate here for so cheap it was a wild.

One day Uber eats came into existence then delivery was super cheap for a bit but then it suddenly was super expensive! How could this ever happen?

The more you cook and the better you get at it, the more disgusting restaurant food is. I find it disgusting.

USA already does subsidize food production. Farmers just export it instead of lowering prices.

Don't have much food at home either. I live alone, and I've been drinking a lot of tap water just make myself feel somewhat full

the real answer is that food is cheap but the average American is unwilling to live on a diet of corn, rice, and beans.

I have 2 local fast food chains that still have "okay" $/calorie/taste ratios but I talk myself out of it 99% of the time. It just pisses me off to spend that much, even if I'm still living well enough. Sit down prices have gotten even more insane.

Ugh, no thanks.
It's rent and cheap labour that makes their food cheap.
