People slander DQ? Its a servicable burger, nothing special for fast food, but also not bad.

I'm gonna slander DQ though: theres no reason for a blizzard to be $5. Its ice cream and candy. I'm not paying $20 for a burger, fries, drink, and ice cream.

I miss the Dairy Queen that used to be at Five Points (a big intersection) in Davenport where I grew up. This was way back, before they became totally standardized and corporate. They made a pork tenderloin sandwich that was fucking delicious, I'd get that with a Buster Bar or Dilly Bar.

Whatever DQ is now holds no interest for me.

Dairy Queen is definitely underrated for their food. I would still take Wendy's over them if they're near each other but DQ has good onion rings and decent fries. Mushroom mozza burger or whatever it's called is really decent. Everything there is better than McDonalds except the fries.

one of the first places I noticed enshittification/shrinkflation was Dairy Queen over 20 years ago, when my dad complained and we stopped going. cone sizes shifted over one size down, and introduced a new smaller small. In my mind they took away one of the few things ways I could spend time with him where I wasn't doing chores, fixing something or going to Home Depot. Worst part is with the dairy queen runs went this childlike joy he'd only show for when he'd ask, 'hey bud! wanna go get dairy queen??'
Didn't forgive until years later my hs gf worked there and I would get free shit. Had never once tried their food that wasn't a plain vanilla cone or the occasional chocolate dipped cone

Same here. I'd pick one up on the way home in high school damn near every day except Tuesdays when they had the brown bag meal deal but eventually they just stopped being worthwhile. Same with Taco Bell and their 89 cent burritos, I'm not gonna pay $1+ for that. Generally speaking I quit fast food in the early 2010s.

the closest dq to me is just down the rosd from costco , and costco’s soft serve is way less money and actually just as good if not better, and in fact is actually legally able to be called ice cream due to having enough cream content, unlike dq only being calles soft serve frozen dessert or whatever. and im sure a dq burger is good but a costco food court hot dog is way less money.

Dairy queen has god tier chicken tendies they are super crunchy and nice. DQ tendie baskets with vidya games is top comfy
Also where I live they are one of the only places doing reasonable deals, 2 for 5 dollars and you can get a snack wrap and a single burg or something
