How is it, what is the selection like? Is it cheap or expensive?

No crab, where I live thats casino territory.
Sushi bar is subpar but there's a much better AYCE sushi spot is only 15 minutes more driving.
I'll be honest, I come here to eat unlimited steaks, baked potatoes, and fried shrimp. Green beans and sauteed mushrooms too. I know golden corral can also provide this, but what they don't have is chow mein, crawfish, or mongolian stir fry grill.

I only go once every 2-3 months, have never gotten sick besides giving myself indigestion from overeating

Imagine eating that garbage. I GUARANTEE you, none of this shit is even properly refrigerated, and there are cockroaches, maggots and rats running around the kitchen. How else could they cut a profit?

only places that have buffets now are the big RSL (think VFA if you're yank) and footy clubs.
But they're always packed with hundreds of asians and islander families and screaming children. The vibes are bad.

try living in the southwest where it's only mexicans, natives, and the odd blacks
None but the poorest and
buglike of asians eat at these places. Here they have dedicated city blocks owned just by asian businesses. Whole strip mall plazas of international markets & restaurants, as well as hair & nail salons and other shit. Not quite chinatowns but close. Like protochinatowns built into prestablished western architecture. They do good business, and make the best bao in town. And I'll be damned if I'm buying imported soy sauce, vinegar, miso paste, or ginger at regular american supermarket mark up

Do you not like Chinese food? For me, it is the chicken skewers but fried wontons are also nice

Yeah my chinese buffet is between a massage parlor and an abandoned sports authority. I like to take the fried shrimp with me in the bathroom and stuff a few of them up my ass.

I enjoy both Americanised chai knee fu and authentic Chinese cuisines but I've not been to the local buffet since COVID. However, one of our neighbour-couples were talking to me and the missus last year and mentioned it. I didn't remember under what context or if it was completely out of the blue (the husband half has a tendency to bounce topic to topic with seemingly no logic to it) and they both said that it's gotten better post COVID but they didn't mention the price nor if the selection has changed that I can recall.

is it okay to go to a buffet and eat crabs whole, chitin and all? I like to eat it and people usually get mad at me.

I do enjoy a succulent Chinese meal, as long as my penis isn't being grabbed.

An hour is normal, it's the fatties that spend 4+ hours at the buffet that get on their nerves.

I only go a few times a year so don't remember specifics
