Most Slavic food sucks ass, but Borsch is the best soup in the world by a far shot. How comes?

south slave food is pretty good but rusdogs have it worst. their food is not bad tasting, but direly one note, and imported ingredients are hard to get.

Most Slavic food is gone because of USSR.
Since soup was mentioned, and it's summer, consider:

Add parsley to it tho

Man I love a good borscht. The Ukrainian restaurant on the corner near me does a great one but I need to try the place next door.

No, we have all of the soups because all of the world has immigrated to the U.S. at one point or another. Never mind the vast number of soups that couldn't be made without new world crops.

>No, we have all of the soups because all of the world has immigrated to the U.S. at one point or another.
sure, if you search high and low you can find some soups in some restaurants, but fast food menus show the real picture. One bad soup is usually there as a side or some shit and only panera has more than one on the menu afaik, plus they cost as much as a hamburger, despite soups being the cheapest and easiest food to make. Americans don't like soups, don't eat them and thus don't have any good ones
Compare with eastern europe where most fast food places sell several decent and cheap soups which are used as a first course of a meal

75% of US population eat the trash every week
since you've never been outside of your state, I can inform you that popular fast food chain menus in all countries are different and are actually representative of what population likes to eat

chlodnik for lunch yesterday - chilled beetroot soup with kefir and grated cucumber, radish and egg - plus obviously plenty of dill
It's full summer, so it's time for chilled borsch

I donโ€™t get this meme
Places that were far more desolate than the USSR in the 20th century are known for great food today. Think Vietnam

Like what? I like halusky, cabbage rolls, pierogi, stroganoff, borscht obviously. I'm not that familiar with slavic cuisince but everything I've tried I've enjoyed.
