Sometimes, you just need a New York hot dog.

That looks like chili sauce, but serious question why are new yorkers so triggered by the thought of ketchup on hot dogs? It's just emulsified lips and assholes in tube form, why is anyone pretentious about what goes on something so disgusting?

It's onion sauce, which is basically sauteed onions and ketchup, sometimes with added spices and chili peppers.

New Yorkers are snowflakes that get triggered by anything. Don't take it personally.

Try Chicago. Some restaurants have signs saying you'll get kicked out for asking for ketchup. Only someone with the mind of a child cares about a stranger's personal taste.
I'll take the well-done steak with ketchup, a rare burger with no lettuce, and iced instant ramen sans seasoning packet. No tips.

chicago style pickle relish is extremely sweet so adding ketchup is redundant

I tried it with and without ketchup. Slightly preferred the ketchup. Not for sweetness but for the tomato.
>Redundant
Irrelevant. Powdered sugar is added to pastries. Salt is added to pretzels even though the dough has salt. Steak is basted with fat despite containing fat and being cooked in fat. And none of that is even relevant because it's all up to an individual's personal preference.

In the days of Google reviews, no. But it's such a childish tone that I chose to go to a different restaurant because of it. And I'm glad I did because I returned to the other restaurant 2 more times while I was in town.
