I've been looking through the candy aisle and there's so few choices for candy bars and chocolates with nuts that are NOT peanut. I just find the peanut taste overwhelming and besides Almond Joy you can't really find anything with non-peanut nuts in it.

It's because peanuts aren't technically nuts the that almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios etc are which are typically the seeds of fruit that grows on trees. Peanuts as the name implies are a species of legume like peas and beans, so they are far, far easier to grow in large amounts.
