Fuck the reinheitsgebot, its an early prohibition law. Real traditional germanic beers had all kinds of herbs mixed in to alter effects for healing or psychoactive properties. The church though that's heretic pagan practices and forbid all herbs except for hops, which just makes you a little sleepy.
For example, the original Pilsen beer was Bilsen beer with Bilsenkraut, henbane. A strongly psychoactive nightshade.
